Job Overview

As the Product Specialist, Underground LHD & Trucks, you will play a key role in shaping the strategy, development, and success of Komatsu's underground load-haul-dump (LHD) and truck product portfolio. Working closely with engineering, product management, commercial teams, customers, and our global distribution network, you will transform market insights into innovative product solutions that deliver value throughout the product lifecycle. From influencing new product development and supporting technical design to collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders worldwide, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on industry-leading equipment while helping drive business growth and customer success.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of global product strategies for underground LHD and Truck product lines, collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, Commercial, Service, and regional teams.
  • Partner with customers, distributors, and sales teams to support business development, product adoption, customer satisfaction, and market growth.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and installed base data to identify opportunities, define product positioning, and guide product development decisions.
  • Maintain product documentation, specifications, sales tools, technical presentations, and commercial information to support the global distribution network.
  • Contribute to pricing strategies, forecasting, budgeting, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to support profitable growth and effective product lifecycle management.
  • Support global product launches by developing sales enablement materials, marketing content, technical documentation, and training resources.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure product quality, continuous improvement, and successful execution of global product initiatives.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • BSc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical trade is required.
  • 2+ years of experience working with loading equipment technologies and strong hydraulic, powertrain, electrical knowledge is required.
  • Direct mining/equipment application experience with similar equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of the LHD & Truck market in mining operations is desired.
  • May be required to travel globally up to 25% of the time to mine site locations and customer facilities to establish and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.


Additional Information

  • Must have excellent communication and public speaking skills with an ability to demonstrate confidence in material knowledge and convey product information to a broad audience with varying levels of product capability.
  • Commercial aptitude and experience with market analysis, sales upselling, sales forecasting is desired.
  • Strong computer skills with ability to prepare data metrics, sales presentations, training materials.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to multi-task on a variety of projects.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Visio) and ERP systems.


Compensation Range

At Komatsu, base pay is just one part of a comprehensive total compensation package designed to support and reward our employees.

For this role, the annual base compensation range is $87,000.00 to $120,000.00 CAD. The final offer will be determined based on several factors, including the candidates' skills, experience, qualifications, and the position location.
