Job Description

Agilent is seeking a field-based Digital Pathology Product Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) with direct sales impact for our Digital Pathology portfolio. This role combines deep product and application expertise with the ability to advance and close complex opportunities, including pricing and commercial negotiations, in partnership with the field sales organization.

As a trusted technical and clinical authority, you will engage directly with customers across clinical and research pathology environments, guiding solution design, influencing buying decisions, and helping convert complex requirements into closed business. You will play a hands-on role in opportunity execution-supporting deal strategy, overcoming technical objections, and accelerating adoption-while ensuring solutions are properly positioned and successfully implemented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Digital Pathology product expert for assigned accounts and territories, supporting revenue growth through deep technical and workflow expertise.
  • Partner closely with field sales to advance opportunities through the sales funnel, from discovery and solution definition through close and customer handoff.
  • Lead high-value pre-sales engagements, including customer consultations, workflow assessments, technical presentations, and product demonstrations.
  • Support and participate in commercial negotiations, including solution configuration and pricing discussions, in alignment with sales and business guidelines.
  • Confidently articulate Agilent's Digital Pathology value proposition, addressing technical, clinical, operational, and economic considerations.
  • Engage directly with pathologists, laboratory directors, clinical leaders, pharma/biopharma researchers, IT teams, and healthcare administrators to align solutions to customer goals.
  • Provide expert guidance on digital transformation, image management, AI-enabled pathology workflows, and laboratory integration.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Field Applications, Field Service Engineers, Marketing, and Implementation teams to ensure accurate positioning and successful customer outcomes.
  • Maintain opportunity-level discipline, including CRM updates, technical win strategies, and contribution to forecasting accuracy.
  • Deliver customer workshops, training sessions, and go-live support as needed to reinforce adoption and long-term value realization.
  • Represent Agilent as a technical sales expert at customer meetings, professional events, and industry forums.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences discipline; an advanced degree (MS or PhD) is strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in digital pathology, pathology imaging, or healthcare software/hardware sales or specialist roles.
  • Experience with LIS, IMS, digital pathology scanners, or image-management platforms required
  • Radiology-only imaging experience is not applicable
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of pathology workflows and technologies, including H&E, IHC, microscopy, whole-slide imaging, and AI-enabled applications.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex, solution-based sales, including opportunity strategy, objection handling, and pricing discussions.
  • Ability to translate technical and clinical requirements into commercially viable solutions that meet customer and business needs.
  • Proven ability to influence diverse stakeholders and build credibility with both customers and internal teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a player/coach model, balancing technical leadership with direct sales contribution.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM and digital sales tools.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple concurrent customer engagements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling technical and value-based presentations.
