The Product Solution Manager (supporting the PBM - Pharmacy Benefits Management at Humana) is the single owner of the end-to-end solution, responsible for ensuring that multiple teams, Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and vendors/joint-ventures deliver a cohesive, integrated outcome aligned to business objectives. This role operates above the product level, aligning work before commitments are made and orchestrating across teams to proactively manage dependencies, tradeoffs, and priorities. The Product Solution Manager ensures that delivery is coordinated, scalable, and optimized for system-level value rather than local team outcomes.
Job DescriptionThe Solution Manager is responsible for defining, aligning, and delivering the end-to-end solution across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and external partners. This role ensures that all components of the solution (across products, systems, and vendors/joint-ventures) work together to achieve intended business outcomes. Acting as the single accountable leader for solution success, the Solution Manager aligns stakeholders prior to development, manages cross-team dependencies, and ensures delivery is integrated, scalable, and of high quality.
In this role, the Solution Manager owns and maintains the overall solution vision, roadmap, and capabilities, ensuring alignment with business goals and enterprise priorities. They define and prioritize the solution backlog across ARTs, translating strategy into coordinated execution. At the same time, they serve as the central point of coordination across product managers, delivery teams, and vendors, aligning roadmaps, releases, and priorities to ensure cohesive execution and prevent teams from optimizing in isolation.
A critical aspect of the role is proactively managing dependencies and planning across the system. The Solution Manager identifies cross-ART and cross-vendor dependencies early, drives alignment ahead of PI planning, and ensures that work is fully understood and ready before commitments are made. By surfacing risks, tradeoffs, and impacts early, they enable more informed decision-making and reduce downstream disruptions. They also ensure end-to-end solution integrity by partnering closely with architecture and engineering teams to validate integration points, system behavior, and non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and reliability.
The Solution Manager plays a key role in coordinating delivery across the organization, ensuring that releases are integrated and aligned across teams and vendors. They lead and participate in solution-level planning and execution activities, track progress against intended outcomes, and intervene as needed to maintain alignment. In addition, they serve as the primary interface for executive stakeholders, providing clear visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies while aligning business, product, and technology leaders around priorities and tradeoffs.
This role requires experience operating in scaled agile environments and managing complex, multi-team or multi-vendor/venture solutions. Success in the role depends on a strong understanding of product management, system integration, and agile delivery, along with the ability to influence without authority, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders. What differentiates the Solution Manager is their focus on system-level success i.e. operating above individual teams or products to ensure that the entire solution delivers cohesive, end-to-end value, with alignment established early to avoid downstream risk and rework.
This role will not have any direct reports; this role will report to the director of product management.
