Job Description:

Role Summary:

This role supports the design and enhancement of products by partnering with stakeholders to improve quality, performance, manufacturability, and serviceability. The position helps evaluate product and process performance, identify improvement opportunities, and move technical solutions from concept through release.

What You Will Do (Job Duties):

  • Develop procedures and plans to ensure product quality, evaluate results, and resolve functional deficiencies.

  • Assess production processes to identify manufacturing or design defects and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and quality.

  • Gather feedback from internal and external stakeholders to identify new product opportunities and enhancements that improve serviceability.

  • Prepare technical specifications and instructions to support product performance, quality standards, and project execution from concept through release.

  • This position will focus on and provide technical support on the adaptive and integrated machine technologies for Cat asphalt paving and compaction machines, including both aftermarket stand-alone solutions and factory-delivered integrated systems.

Technical Excellence: Applies strong technical knowledge to address challenges, develop solutions, and support product quality and performance.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Experience with GPS, machine positioning, machine guidance, connectivity, and automation technologies.

  • Ability to interpret 3D models, including profile and elevation data used to guide machine operation.

  • Knowledge of safe equipment operation, customer requirements, and quality standards for technical solutions.

  • Familiarity with electronics, software, testing, and troubleshooting in machine or equipment applications.

  • Background in heavy equipment operation and application; paving machine experience is highly preferred.

  • Experience coaching dealers, customers, or end users on technology adoption and proper system use.

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality planning, system requirements, and safety considerations.

  • Strong presentation, analytical, research, and problem-resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated success implementing or supporting technical solutions that improve product performance and customer outcomes.

Additional Information:

  • Locations for this role include Peoria, IL or Brooklyn Park, MN

  • This role requires up to 30% domestic and international travel.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

  • Visa sponsorship is not available.

  • ISE assignments are not available.

  • This role is required to be on site five days a week.


 

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
