Full Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Product Security Engineer to support a company focused on advanced command and control systems, cybersecurity, and national security technology solutions. This position is on-site in Colorado Springs, CO. The Product Security Engineer will support cybersecurity engineering, vulnerability management, security testing, and compliance initiatives across a complex defense platform.

Responsibilities for the Product Security Engineer include:
  • Partner with Cyber Engineering teams to implement, validate, and test cybersecurity solutions across the platform environment.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity test events, review and validate test plans, execute security testing activities, and brief leadership on findings and risk impacts.
  • Manage vulnerability remediation efforts including IAVMs, CTOs, CVEs, vendor patch integration, and DISA STIG implementation and verification.
  • Support Agile Scrum teams throughout the software development lifecycle by identifying requirements, participating in sprint activities, and ensuring cyber compliance.
  • Perform cyber vulnerability assessments, security configuration activities, audit reviews, and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen system security.

Required Qualifications for the Product Security Engineer include:
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, security engineering, vulnerability management, or a related field.
  • Experience with patch management, multi-factor authentication, host-based security solutions, intrusion detection systems, SIEM tools, system scanning, cyber audit tools, and Group Policy (GPO) management.
  • Strong knowledge of RMF security controls, NIST standards, DISA STIGs, DoD cybersecurity requirements, Agile Scrum methodologies, SDLC processes, and cybersecurity testing practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Current DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification required (Security+ or higher).

Compensation for the Product Security Engineer include:
  • Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000 depending on experience
  • Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick Leave as required by law
