Position Overview:
Join Finning and play a critical role in managing Mining Machine product reliability and performance. This position offers:

As a Product Reliability Manager, you'll work closely with customers, Caterpillar representatives, and Finning teams to ensure Mining Machines in the region are supported through a defined Product Problem Management process. If you have strong technical expertise, relationship-building skills, and a passion for improving reliability, this is a role for you!

This position is located in Edmonton and will be working a Monday to Friday ( 5 x 2)

Job Description:
  • Manage Electric Rope shovel and Electric Drive System product reliability and performance issues, including formal documentation, tracking and communicating top technical & commercial issues.
  • Develop, monitor, and report ERS and Electric Drive System KPIs to measure reliability and performance improvements.
  • Build strong relationships with key customer personnel to identify product performance issues and recommend equipment management strategies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Finning branch teams to identify and resolve reliability and durability issues, including managing test parts and related documentation.
  • Work closely with Caterpillar Field Engineers, district representatives, and product groups to support Mining Machine reliability initiatives.
  • Partner with remanufacturing and rebuild facilities to manage component reliability and durability, ensuring consistent processes for tracking and communication.
  • Formalize commercial product support agreements with Caterpillar for recurring issues and develop CSLs where required.
  • Prepare and distribute technical documents, including best practices, technical reports, special instructions, and local support programs.
  • Support Reliability Group and branch management during customer interface meetings and technical discussions.
  • Provide technical input to sales, marketing, technology, and contract teams to enhance product support strategies.


Day-to-Day Activities:
  • Participate in customer meetings and act as a technical leader for reliability discussions.
  • Monitor machine health and condition monitoring data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of reliability issues and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure timely resolution of product concerns.


Requirements:
  • Journeyman certification in Heavy Duty Technician trade or related post-secondary education in a relevant technical field.
  • Superior mechanical and electrical aptitude coupled with exceptional troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate teams effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and service support systems (SIS, Dealer.com, TMIWEB, ET, VIMS).
  • Self-starter with strong time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Travel required to customer sites in region (up to 25%).
