Position Overview

As a Product Owner Sr within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Dallas, TX or Birmingham, AL.

We are seeking a Senior Product Owner to lead the strategy, enhancement, and adoption of Prism and X-Ray. Prism is a suite of reporting capabilities within Jira that provides visibility into software development workflows and delivery performance. This role will partner closely with Scrum Masters, Engineering teams, Product Management, and other Technology stakeholders to deliver reporting solutions that improve development efficiency, optimize workload planning, and provide actionable insights across the software delivery lifecycle.

The Senior Product Owner will own the product roadmap for Prism and X-Ray, define reporting requirements, prioritize enhancements, and drive continuous improvements to support technology organizations across the enterprise. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between business and technical teams, translating stakeholder needs into scalable reporting solutions and ensuring the ongoing health and effectiveness of the platform.

Key Responsibilities:
• Own and manage the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for Prism reporting capabilities and X-Ray within Jira.
• Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Managers, Engineering leaders, and Technology teams to identify reporting needs and opportunities for process improvement.
• Leverage Agile development and flow metrics to provide insights into software delivery performance, team efficiency, workload forecasting, and operational effectiveness.
• Develop a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, including work progression from ideation through story creation, development, testing, and production deployment.
• Define business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and reporting specifications for new features and enhancements.
• Prioritize and manage enhancements, defect resolution, and maintenance activities for the Prism platform.
• Partner with technical teams to design, develop, validate, and deploy reporting solutions and dashboards.
• Analyze and interpret Agile metrics, including flow-based measurements, to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions to gather requirements, align priorities, and communicate product updates.
• Drive adoption and effective utilization of Prism reporting tools across technology organizations.
• Monitor platform performance and ensure reporting accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts among engineering teams, business partners, and reporting stakeholders to deliver business value.

• Strong experience with Jira and Agile software development methodologies.
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery frameworks.
• Experience working with Agile reporting, flow metrics, and software delivery performance measurements.
• Proven ability to gather requirements, manage backlogs, and prioritize competing initiatives.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, or operational insights platforms.
• Knowledge of Agile flow metrics such as cycle time, lead time, throughput, work-in-progress (WIP), and flow efficiency.
• Familiarity with dashboarding, reporting tools, and data visualization concepts.

This position may be eligible for remote work in select geographic locations, subject to approval by PNC. If approved, work must be conducted from a quiet, secure, and confidential home-based workspace. Occasional in-office participation may be required based on business needs.

Job Description
  • Owns the vision and definition of the product. Serves as the voice of the Customer. Responsible for ensuring the Scrum Team(s) effort is concentrated on the right priorities based on business value.
  • Defines and conveys the vision to the team(s) in order to address client requirements to ensure a successful product based on business value.
  • Drives the creation of and the integrity of the product backlog. Leads grooming of the product backlog and ensures the backlog is correctly prioritized based on business value.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Scrum Master(s) and development team(s), are focused on the right priorities during the development process. Primary point of contact for questions from the team(s) and is empowered to make decisions.
  • Accepts delivery of working product from the Scrum Team(s). Socializes the delivery of business value and outcomes of the iteration to the stakeholders and clients.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $112,000.00 - $249,600.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
