Product Marketing Manager

The Role

We're looking for a Product Marketing Manager to lead the go-to-market strategy for PlayerData's expanding product suite. PlayerData is a product-first company, with sports technology that redefines the coach, sports scientist, and player's experiences. We obsess over making the best products for anyone, not just sports tech. Up until this point, no one has been able to tell the story of our innovations, our workflow, and our industry changing approach. We are looking for the person who is going to own our narrative, finally tell the stories of the incredible technologies we have built and who is going to obsess over our products and our customers like we do.

You will ensure that every coach, every athletic director, and every performance professional who encounters PlayerData understands exactly what we offer, why it matters, and why now is the time to work with PlayerData. You will build the assets that enable our commercial team to sell efficiently.

This role is based in Boston, MA and reports to the Head of Marketing.

What You Will Work On

Product positioning and messaging Develop clear, compelling positioning for each product in the PlayerData suite, and weave them together into a unified platform narrative that is ambitious without being overwhelming.

Go-to-market strategy. Own the GTM plan for each new product launch. Define the audience, the message, the channel, the timing, and the assets required to make each launch land. Build and manage clear launch plans, timelines, dependencies, and communication rhythms across marketing, commercial, product, and customer success teams to ensure launches execute cleanly and consistently.

Sport vertical strategy PlayerData serves soccer, basketball, football, and beyond. Each sport has a different buyer, a different set of objections, a different user experience, and a different definition of value. You will develop sport-specific messaging and assets for each vertical while maintaining a consistent platform story across all of them.

Sales Enablement: Build and maintain the materials our commercial team needs to sell effectively: one-pagers, decks, case study frameworks, objection handling guides, demo scripts, and competitive positioning. The commercial team should never walk into a meeting without the right tool in hand. You should care deeply about helping commercial teams win faster, explain products more clearly, and reduce friction throughout the sales process.

Content and asset development: Write and produce product-focused content including feature explainers, launch videos, product pages, and campaign briefs. You will work closely with creative partners to bring the PlayerData product story to life visually and verbally.

Customer and market intelligence: Stay close to PlayerData coaches, athletes, and performance staff across all sports and levels. Understand how they think about their problems, how they evaluate technology, and what moves them from interest to purchase. Bring that intelligence back into everything you build.

What We Are Looking For
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in product marketing, ideally within sports technology, sports performance, or a related category.
  • A master storyteller. You can write a punchy one-liner and a detailed positioning document and know exactly when each is appropriate.
  • A genuine understanding of the sports ecosystem, how programs operate, how buying decisions are made, and what coaches and performance staff actually care about.
  • An expert in using modern AI tools to accelerate execution, improve quality, and scale your impact (i.e. Claude, Jasper, Gong, Figma, Canva etc)
  • Strategic thinker who can hold the complexity of a multi-product platform and translate it into a clear, simple story for the correct audiences.
  • Highly organized with strong project management instincts. You can run a product launch while also building the foundational assets the team has never had.
  • Comfortable getting stuff done in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and resourcefulness is a competitive advantage.
  • Not afraid to take big swings and try new things
  • Experience collaborating with commercial and product teams and a genuine interest in helping them win.
  • Personal background in sport as a player, coach, or administrator. You need to know the space and be able to speak the language.
  • Passionate about sports, coaching, and athlete development. Willingness to spend time with users, especially those who might get early access to beta products.

What Makes This Role Different

We are not looking for someone who simply produces marketing assets. We are looking for someone who can help shape how the market understands PlayerData. You will not be maintaining a mature marketing function. You will be building one at a moment when the product story is genuinely exciting - new products, new categories, and a platform vision that nobody in this space has fully realized yet. The work you do here will shape how an entire industry understands PlayerData for years to come.

Location: Candidates that are available to work a minimum of 3 days per week in our Downtown Boston, MA office will be preferred. Remote candidates will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary
  • Team performance bonus structure
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible PTO and remote work options
