Summary:Yelp's Growth Marketing team is dedicated to driving user acquisition, activation, and long-term engagement across the full consumer lifecycle. As a Growth Marketing Manager, you will own the strategies and execution for consumer onboarding, retention and re-engagement, and acquisition across our Services and Restaurant, Food & Nightlife (RFN) verticals.
You will focus on building high-impact onboarding experiences for users acquired through owned and partner channels, developing reacquisition strategies to win back lapsed users, and driving Services acquisition through paid media channels. We are also looking for someone with strong content strategy skills to build engaging educational content that will fuel social, lifecycle, and AEO initiatives.
In this highly cross-functional role, you will partner closely with Marketing Operations, Growth Science, Creative Design, Marketing Technology, and Product teams to build and optimize lifecycle programs. You will be responsible for ensuring the right touchpoints are in place for the growing volume of users acquired through new channels.
We are looking for a data-driven strategist and hands-on executor who is passionate about understanding user behavior, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering measurable business impact through personalized, channel-optimized marketing.
Our team is passionate about data, experimentation, and the power of new technology, including AI, to drive innovation. We are especially interested in candidates who bring direct experience with lifecycle or growth marketing at scale, and who demonstrate curiosity and enthusiasm for leveraging AI and emerging technologies to advance marketing effectiveness.
We’d love to have you apply, even if you don’t feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we’re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes. This is a full-time remote role based in the United States.
What you'll do:
- Design and optimize onboarding journeys to nurture new users, identifying user needs and improving early engagement to deepen retention.
- Build segmentation frameworks to identify at-risk and lapsed user cohorts, and design personalized reacquisition journeys based on prior behavior and vertical affinity.
- Lead content strategy for consumer campaigns and optimize content for AEO/GEO discoverability.
- Lead mid-funnel marketing to acquire new Services users through off-platform channels and drive qualified users deeper into the funnel.
- Lead targeted engagement strategies for Services and RFN users across core growth channels to increase retention and deepen engagement throughout the user journey.
- Lead the development, execution, and ongoing optimization of growth experiments using A/B testing, segmentation, and analytics.
- Measure campaign performance and iterate on strategies to improve efficiency.
- Partner with Marketing Technology and Operations teams to build new marketing capabilities, behavioral signals, and channel optimizations that drive engagement and revenue.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills — set priorities, problem-solve, multitask, and work independently in a rapidly changing environment.
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance consumer insights, marketing strategies, and campaign effectiveness.
What it takes to succeed:
- 5-8 years of experience in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, or related roles.
- Proven experience building and optimizing onboarding and lifecycle programs across owned channels (i.e., email, push, in-product).
- Direct experience developing winback or re-engagement strategies that drove measurable reactivation.
- Experience with content strategy, including integration of UGC content and content development for social, lifecycle, or SEO/AEO channels.
- Hands-on experience with marketing platforms to oversee campaign execution, develop audience segmentation, and ideate new behavioral signals.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Must be comfortable analyzing campaign performance, extracting insights from data, and applying them to real-world execution and optimization.
- Experience working with paid acquisition or performance marketing teams is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage performance monitoring across a large portfolio of campaigns, with a bias toward action and continuous optimization.
- Excellent organizational, project management, cross-functional collaboration, and prioritization skills in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize complex concepts to an executive audience.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience with, or strong enthusiasm for, applying AI solutions in growth marketing.
