What Will You Do:

This individual will work in a highly matrix environment and collaborate cross-functionally with the rest of the marketing team, product management, sales, engineering, and customer service in order to develop marketing strategies that will continue to deliver double digit revenue growth for Protolabs' unique digital manufacturing service offering in the Americas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with rest of marketing and product management team to develop a marketing strategy for dedicated Protolabs' services, including identifying key target audiences, competitive landscape, growth objectives, strategies to find new customers and retain existing customers.
  • Member of service line growth team to serve as marketing point to key marketing growth strategies.
  • Act as a conduit between product management and marketing communications during product launches and go-to-market planning.
  • Lead service messaging and value prop work that positions Protolabs' capabilities in a differentiated and market-leading way.
  • Monitor and compare competitors' marketing strategies across multitude of channels, including digital (paid/organic/social) as well as traditional (tradeshows/events/PR) in order to ensure market/service leadership and differentiation across all of the key segments.
  • Gain intimate customer persona knowledge and understanding of how Protolabs' unique value proposition applies across multiple use cases; Socialize this knowledge with the rest of the marketing team and ensure adequate interpretation in content development, messaging, positioning, etc.
  • Ensure all marketing messages articulate the right value and are relevant to intended audiences/personas.
  • Collaborate with other marketing and product management members to develop innovative marketing campaigns in order to raise awareness for Protolabs' capabilities, generate demand, and ultimately drive revenue results.
  • Use data analytics to assess health of service line and identify key growth opportunities.
  • Partner with sales and rest of marketing team to ensure the right type of sales enablement tools and resources needed for revenue attainment.
  • Understand and document customer/buyer journey, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind every key decision.
  • Accountable for partnering with sales, product management, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the attainment of upper funnel service-level metrics, such as leaders, uploaders and quotes.
  • Participate in cross-functional demand planning process to ensure forecasting model accuracy and revenue attainment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


What It Takes:

Required Qualifications: Minimal qualifications required in order to be considered for entry into the job

Education and Experience:
  • At least 5 years of product marketing experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing, MBA preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools and Salesforce/CRM
  • Proven track record of developing effective marketing strategies and on-point messaging and positioning.
  • B2B, B2C and/or e-Commerce experience highly desired
  • Experience with 3DP printing or medical industry is preferred
  • Keen focus on customer-centric and data-driven approach to problem solving
  • Excellent people skills with ability to interact at all levels of the organization, including colleagues, cross-functional peers, executives, customers, and third parties
  • High levels of curiosity and desire to learn more
  • Interest in manufacturing technologies, product design/development, and/or other similar engineering disciplines

$95,000 - $126,600 a year

Protolabs offers a competitive total rewards package, and compensation mix vary based on position, such as base wage, as well as other earnings including incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, job function, work experience, specialized skills, training, education, and certifications.

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
