Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in a technology or business related field.
  • 10 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 10 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • 10 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • Knowledge of, or continued interest in, building accessibility best practices and experience/curiosity for incorporating accessibility into product development methodologies.


About the job
As a Product Manager, you will lead YouTube's client platform, including our development technologies, app performance team, and logging for YouTube's mobile applications. In this role, you will partner with a well-staffed engineering team to define and deliver the next generation of mobile platform capabilities, developer experience, and performance optimizations while improving the viewer experience.
This is a highly collaborative role where your work will directly influence the viewer's experience for over 1B DAU. You will lead multi-year efforts to optimize critical metrics like latency, memory usage, and crash rates -- efforts with established track records of driving significant topline metrics growth. You will partner with our engineering team to further evolve our client frameworks, including pushing YouTube to the frontier of AI-driven and agentic software development.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $192000 - $279000 (USD) 20% bonus target equity benefits

  • Lead YouTube's client platform, including guiding the evolution of our in-house technologies, app performance efforts, and client logging. Continue the team's history of driving significant topline metrics growth.
  • Partner with a well-staffed engineering team to improve the viewer and developer experience across our mobile apps.
  • Improve the performance of YouTube's apps, continuing the team's multi-year pattern of significant topline improvements.
  • Drive adoption of automated/AI-driven fixes, migrations, and other larger app-scale changes.
  • Partner with engineering to expand agentic client development across the company.
