Product Manager, Construction Equipment (CE) AttachmentsSalina, KSGreat Plains Manufacturing is currently seeking a
Product Manager to be a part of the Product Management team. The successful candidate will participate and lead efforts to plan, organize, and control the Construction Equipment (CE) Attachment product line from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.
This is an on-site position based in Salina, KS. Some domestic and international travel will be required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Discover and Define market requirements and business needs for assigned product lines.
- Gather and analyze industry and competitive information to make recommendations for strategies that fill product gap and/or address market needs for assign product lines.
- Identify need for new product development and existing product improvements within assigned product line. Guide engineering and product development from a voice of customer standpoint.
- Lead efforts to define and maintain market-based pricing for the assigned product lines.
- Lead the new product development cycle by monitoring and supporting schedule management and communication is occurring for effective and proactive development of new products.
- Act as a voice of the customer by surveying customers and dealers for product requirements and market trends. Identify market potential of uncovered segments and customer groups.
- Provide information and training to dealers and sales personnel, highlighting features and competitive advantages of new and existing products within assigned product line to increase product knowledge and sales.
- Attend trade shows, sales meetings, and dealer meetings to promote assigned product line.
- Support and maintain systems and tools utilized for Product Management activities.
- Travel domestically and internationally to support territory managers (up to 30%).
- Follow all Great Plains MFG policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 5 to 7 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 to 7 years prior experience leading product management principles for an off-highway equipment OEM or supplier
- Exposure to or professionally led training in Product Management
- Computer proficiency in Word processing, Internet, Email, Spreadsheets, Software Concepts, Hardware, Presentations, Graphics, Multimedia
- Available to travel up to 30%; including some international travel.
