Full Job Description
Product Manager II Mission of the Role This position is located out of either our Minneapolis, MN or Canton, MA office. As a Product Manager II, you will play a critical role in shaping and advancing SICK's pre-engineered and solution-based portfolio across North America. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned solutions, translating customer and market insights into differentiated offerings that deliver measurable customer value and profitable growth. Acting as the strategic link between customers, sales, engineering, and global stakeholders, you will ensure SICK's Sensor Intelligence is applied to solve complex industry challenges. Key Responsibilities Product & Solution Strategy • Own the full lifecycle of assigned solutions, from strategic concept development and business case creation through launch, optimization, and end of life planning. • Develop and maintain mid term product and solution roadmaps aligned with North American market needs and global product strategy. • Translate customer, industry, and regulatory requirements into clear product and solution requirements for engineering teams. Market & Customer Insight • Conduct market, application, and industry research to understand trends, competitive dynamics, and unmet customer needs. • Engage directly with customers and key accounts to uncover pain points, latent needs, and value drivers using structured discovery methodologies. • Capture and synthesize recurring customer requirements to inform future portfolio, solution, and platform strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner closely with engineering, sales, industry teams, marketing, and global product management to define solution requirements and drive execution. • Form and lead cross functional teams with clear goals, accountability, and execution plans to deliver results locally and globally. • Navigate the organization effectively to align stakeholders, resolve trade-offs, and accelerate decision making. Business Case & Commercial Enablement • Build and present data driven business cases to justify new solution development, including market potential, customer value propositions, revenue forecasts, and profitability analysis. • Define and communicate global and regional pricing strategies for assigned solutions. • Develop and support go to market strategies, including sales tools, positioning, training content, and launch activities. Launch, Growth & Lifecycle Management • Plan, execute, and track solution launches using company defined processes, stage gates, and performance metrics. • Collaborate with sales and regional teams to drive adoption, growth, and sustained success of launched solutions. • Support customer and partner training efforts as needed to ensure successful deployment and value realization. Perform other duties as may be assigned or required by management. Key Qualifications • Experience: 6+ years of experience in product management or solution management, preferably within industrial automation, digitalization, vision, analytics, or related technical domains. • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar) preferred; equivalent experience considered. Advanced degree a plus. • Certifications: None is required • Position-specific Qualifications: • Proven experience managing product or solution lifecycles and leading successful market introductions. • Strong ability to translate complex customer and market needs into structured solution requirements and compelling value propositions. • Ability to evaluate market potential, competitive landscapes, and financial trade-offs to guide portfolio decisions. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders at all levels. • Action oriented mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguous, fast paced environments and drive results. • Demonstrated success working cross functionally across sales, engineering, marketing, and global teams. • Computer/Technological: Professional competence with Microsoft Office, SAP, and general business systems; experience with software-enabled solutions is a plus. • Language: Professional written and spoken fluency in English required. • Schedule: Generally Monday to Friday, full time; be on-call on some weekends (if required). • General Working Conditions: Office-based with regular collaboration across functions; some travel required to customer sites, sales regions, and internal meetings. • Travel: Be able to travel up to 20% of the time, including internationally; must have a valid passport. • Work Status: Legally permitted to work in the country you are applying and willing to undergo an employment background check. Compensation The base salary is one part of our Total Rewards package and is determined within a range. The starting base salary range for this position is listed below; the actual starting salary will be based on a variety of factors including experience, skill set, education, performance, licenses/certifications, business needs and other job-related factors, as permitted by law. • Starting Base Annual Salary Range: $101,820- $ 154,000 • Bonus Eligibility: This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on a combination of company and individual performance.
