Full Job Description
We are actively recruiting for a Product Manager - Commercial Lines to join our fast-paced and growing Product Department. This role will be based in our Irving, TX office, but will consider Hybrid or Remote.

This is a hybrid product-and-underwriting role - not a traditional desk underwriter position. You will spend the majority of your time on forms strategy, underwriting guidelines, appetite definition, portfolio design, and the operational build of the product. If you enjoy shaping how a product works rather than processing applications all day, this role is built for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Product Build & Forms Strategy

  • Partner with the CUO and Head of Commercial Lines to define product appetite, eligibility criteria, and underwriting guidelines for each of the four launch lines of business
  • Lead the forms strategy work, building proprietary endorsements on top of base forms to differentiate our product and address coverage gaps relevant to our target risks
  • Collaborate with Actuarial on rating structure, rating variables, and the translation of underwriting judgment into rules that can be coded into the rating engine
  • Work closely with IT on the configuration of the policy administration system (PAS) and rating engine, including underwriting questions, automated rules, and referral triggers
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance on form filings, state-specific endorsements, and admitted/non-admitted product structure decisions

Portfolio Management

  • Help design the portfolio management framework: target mix by line of business, geographic concentration limits, class concentration limits, and performance metrics
  • Establish the reporting cadence and dashboards needed to monitor written premium, loss ratio, retention, hit ratio, and product mix as the book grows
  • Identify portfolio-level trends, recommend appetite adjustments, and partner with Actuarial on rate adequacy reviews

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work with Marketing and Sales to translate the product's underwriting story into materials our independent agent channel can use effectively
  • Support agent training and field communications on appetite, submission requirements, and underwriting expectations
  • Provide underwriting input into the broader project plan as the team works toward the January 1, 2027 launch

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Education and Work Authorization

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business management, or related field is preferred
  • Must be authorized to work int he United States (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder)

Required Experience

  • 4+ years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience
  • Working knowledge of commercial forms, including the CGL, BOP, and Commercial Property forms, and how endorsements modify base coverage
  • Strong understanding of how underwriting guidelines, rating, and forms come together to define an insurance product
  • Comfort working in ambiguity - this is a build, not a steady-state role, and the right person will help shape decisions rather than wait for them
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain underwriting reasoning to non-underwriters
