What does a great Senior Advisor Product Management - Open Banking do?

Fiserv is looking for an experienced Product Manager Sr. Advisor - Open Banking, whose primary responsibility will be to leverage our Communicator Open API ecosystem, Banking Hub-Developer Studio Portal & AppMarket understanding to deliver Embedded Finance, Fintech & Agentic AI solutions that complement the innovative space between the Fiserv offering and financial institution strategies. The Product Manager Sr. Advisor I - Open Banking, engages Financial Institutions Fintechs, Merchants, Brands, and navigates the evolving landscape in emerging and existing businesses, and identifies and builds solutions with target partners that support client needs. The Open Banking Product Manager Sr. Advisor I, works closely with our clients and understanding their strategies with our product, technology, operations, marketing, technical writing, and sales teams to build a foundational ecosystem of Open API features to support Fiserv's long-term growth, enabling the go-to-market for an Integrated Banking Marketplace that includes an open API Portal, APP Market banking as a service ecosystem and Agentic AI experiences to collaborate with Fintechs, financial institutions, prospects and key internal stakeholders which will create value for our clients. You will be part of a team working at the intersection of traditional finance and the disruptive world of building new Integrated Banking as a service business model facilitating the secure and easy exchange of information between financial institutions and innovative Fintechs, software providers and other service providers and is evolving into Gen AI-based self-service interactive automations. Qualified candidates will be responsible for creating new digital marketplaces strategies for open distribution channels to support businesses and can expect a fun and challenging results-driven position where they can both contribute and learn. You will work with the Sales enablement, Legal, Global Sourcing, Product Marketing and Product Development/Operations, cross-functional business units to translate digital marketplace product features into user stories for development, the product marketing, and sales teams to articulate differentiation and key messages for the marketplace features and products, and to act as a thought leader on integrated & open banking in the industry.

The Product Manager Sr. Advisor - Open Banking will have the ability to
  • Shape the future of Embedded Fintech & Finance and consequent Agentic AI experiences at Fiserv through data-driven market insights, analysis, definition, and communication and help bring a vision to fruition.
  • Develop a deep understanding of integrated & open banking business models and competitive landscape by conducting market research and customer discovery, clearly defining problem statements and opportunities, and defining competitively differentiated feature sets.
  • Be a leader in understanding the go-to-market needs for integrated open banking marketplaces, creating, and managing a goal-based product roadmap, and launching products along with Product Strategy, Marketing, Development, Implementations and Customer Success leadership.
  • Identify competitive and alternative offerings, perform analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment and develop a strategy for winning against the competition.
  • Establish innovative Self-service assistive models that are aligned to business value
  • Analyze whether to buy, build, or partner to complete the solution for the target market
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to determine how well the product is performing in the market
  • Ensure that all departments are prepared for new product releases and all items are completed to launch the product externally.
  • Deliver products information to qualified buyers in support of existing sales efforts.
  • Manage aspects of the business P&L and be accountable for its financial growth


Experience you'll need to have:
  • Develop an Open API ecosystem that balances Fiserv's business needs, platform capabilities, market trends and insights, and partner feedback.
  • Identify potential Fintech partner prospects, create, develop, and own key relationships across the Fintech partner ecosystem that furthers growth from initial lead through contract close.
  • Manage fintech partnership relationships through a self-service open API Marketplace journey to ensure the successful launch of integrations.
  • Champion the business alignment of Fintechs and Fiserv's Account Processing platforms to facilitate the partner becoming a key part of Fiserv's go-to-market plan and metrics
  • Partner with the Sales Enablement, Product Management, Product Marketing, Content Development and Legal teams to deepen understanding of target user needs, develop a user-focused product and manage day to day items related to Fintech partners.
  • Develop account plans, negotiate pricing plans, monitor and evaluate performance, and participate in business reviews internally and with Fintech partners
  • Analyze data from a variety of sources to answer product or operational related questions and incorporate the analysis into future decision-making processes.
  • Work with Sales team to identify key partners for technology and sales distribution channels and product requirements for those partners.
  • Serve as the market advocate with the ability to compellingly communicate how the product vision meets fintech partner market needs across the company.

Experience that would be great to have
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Management or Open API domain.
  • Demonstrated 5+ years of product partnership experience with Digital marketplaces.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to interact at all levels of the clients from C-level to technical and operation levels.
  • Solid thought leadership and ability to influence others through collaborative efforts
  • Experience in creating roadmaps that support product strategies
  • Shown success in effectively leading products through key stages of the lifecycle
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to build consensus
  • Strong working knowledge of business financial practices, accounting and business case development, and ability to run a P&L
  • Proven ability to understand complex banking and technical concepts and make balanced judgments when faced with trade-offs
  • An ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of constituencies
  • Strong results orientation with demonstrated track record of success
  • Endeavor to engage at the client level
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to interact at all levels of the clients from C-level to public, technical and operation levels

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience working in the banking technology & services industry is preferred
  • 10+ years of Fintech integrations and partnership management experience a plus
  • 7+ years of experience working with middleware, developer portals, & Open APIs
  • 2+ years of AI interaction using Claude, Open AI or other AI tools
  • Experience understanding AI constructs such as LLMs (Large Language Models) for model development and integrating generative AI APIs into existing internal software
  • Background in developing applications for financial services industry a plus
  • Experience with Multiple cloud computing platforms: Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and related areas. Plus/Preferred: IBM OpenShift, Microsoft Azure IoT, AWS/Amazon IoT, and related solutions.
  • Experience with e-commerce marketplace software: Adobe Commerce Cloud - Magento, AppDirect and related solutions


Travel required:
  • Domestic travel as needed, up to at least 20% of the time. Some international travel as needed.
