Product Line Officer, Commercial Insurance - AIG Programs & Glatfelter Insurance

How you will create an impact

  • Actively manages the following commercial insurance product lines: General Liability (including Farm); Automobile (including trucking); Garage; Directors and Officers; Employment Practices Liability; Professional Liability; Umbrella.
  • Portfolio analysis and management; develops and implements strategies to maximize penetration of a single insurance product line, compliance with filings in terms of products, loss costs; technical price adequacy.
  • Technical expert approving all PA Underwriting Authorities, proprietary and manuscript form requests (which may include providing suggested wording), as well as form approval management on admitted business.
  • Serves as the technical expert for referrals and exercises authority with regards to underwriting issues, underwriting guidelines (Qwiknotes) for the product line managed.
  • Provides technical support to PM's, PLM's and Product Development team on new and existing business portfolios.
  • Manages product line objectives to annual goals, makes decision in response to market conditions and provides product specific training. This position is accountable for overall performance of the product line.
  • Evaluates work of staff, as well as make recommendations regarding pay, performance management to other staff dedicated to the product line.
  • Role expanding to include quarterly reporting on results (month of; and YTD) by line in terms of premium, renewal retention, aggregate rate achieved vs. needed; new large losses; adverse loss development; profit improvement strategies; manage adverse trends; ISO loss cost management tactics; product management update.
  • Manages large claims, including internal inquiries to new losses, coordinating the division response to AIG senior claims team.
  • Coverall NexGen Transition - liaison for their respective product lines.
  • Provide technical support to Program Managers
  • Reinforce natural catastrophe risk management initiative:
  • Verify compliance with newly released guidelines
  • Suggest additional topics or actions that will further insulate GIG from an outsized loss
  • Create new tools and strategies to manage risk aggregations and AAL's at a program and risk type level.
  • Act as a product line expert on existing business, inclusive of identifying actions to further de-risk the portfolio
  • Provide guidance on form and coverage revisions during triennial program reviews
  • Provide insight on forms options currently available at AIG
  • Suggest new coverage options to further enhance existing product offerings
  • Provide insight on rating options currently in use at AIG
  • Establish enhanced underwriting best practices and guidelines across all programs, inclusive of working with CUO

For positions based in Boston the base salary range for this position is $130,000-$190,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. For positions based in New York the base salary range for this position is $130,000-$190,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. For positions based in New Jersey the base salary range for this position is $130,000-$190,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
