Full Job Description
The Role

As our Inpatient Clinical Workflows PM, you'll own the clinician-facing features at the heart of Ambience's inpatient platform - the documentation and chart intelligence capabilities that define the core product experience for hospitalists and specialists.

You'll be accountable for two product pillars. First, Inpatient Scribe - the documentation experience purpose-built for inpatient workflows, from admission through discharge, handling the full complexity of rounding, handoffs, multidisciplinary coordination, and discharge summaries. Second, Chart Summarization (Patient Summary & Chart Chat) - the AI-powered chart intelligence layer that enables inpatient clinicians to rapidly synthesize patient history, surface relevant clinical context, and interact conversationally with the medical record.

Done well, this role makes Ambience indispensable for inpatient clinicians - transforming how hospitalists and specialists document, synthesize, and act on clinical information across the entire care episode.

This is a Senior PM IC role - you'll work closely with engineering, design, Clinical AI/ML, and GTM teams.

We're a hybrid company headquartered in San Francisco. This role requires being in the SF office 3x/week.

What You'll Own
Inpatient Scribe
  • Define and execute the Inpatient Scribe roadmap for hospitalists and specialists, grounded in deep understanding of inpatient documentation workflows, rounding patterns, and EHR integration requirements.
  • Deliver a documentation experience that handles the unique complexity of inpatient care: multi-encounter days, team-based rounding, procedure documentation, handoff notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Drive measurable clinician outcomes - time-to-chart, documentation completeness, reduced after-shift charting - and demonstrate clear ROI for hospital administrators.
  • Own inpatient quality metrics - accuracy, latency, note completeness, workflow completion rates - and systematically eliminate the pain points that drive support escalations or clinician drop-off.
  • Partner with Engineering and Clinical AI/ML to adapt ambient capture and note generation models to inpatient-specific language patterns, workflows, and note types.
Chart Summarization - Patient Summary & Chart Chat
  • Own the product vision and roadmap for Patient Summary and Chart Chat within the inpatient setting, purpose-built for hospitalists and specialists managing complex, multi-day patient episodes.
  • Define the summarization experience that surfaces the right clinical context at the right moment: admission summaries, problem-oriented views, medication reconciliation context, overnight event recaps, and trend analysis across the hospital stay.
  • Own Chart Chat as a conversational interface to the medical record - enabling natural-language questions about patient history, labs, imaging, prior encounters, and evolving clinical trajectories.
  • Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks for summarization accuracy, completeness, and clinical safety in the inpatient context, partnering with Clinical AI/ML and clinical advisors.

What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
  • 3+ years of product management experience with direct ownership of a vertical product line or platform, including roadmap and end-to-end product experience.
  • Track record of rapidly building deep domain expertise in a complex, unfamiliar domain.
  • Strong technical fluency - comfort with AI/ML products, API integrations, and complex system design.
  • Experience driving adoption in complex enterprise environments with multi-persona buying committees.
  • Based in SF, available to be in the office 3x/week.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Healthcare or regulated-industry experience (a plus, not a requirement - we hire on scorecard competencies, not domain pedigree).
  • Experience with ambient AI, NLP, clinical documentation, or chart summarization technology.
  • Prior 0-to-1 product vertical experience.

Pay Transparency

The base compensation for this role is approximately $200,000 - $230,000 per year, excluding equity and bonus. We've built in a wide range so candidates have flexibility in how they balance cash and equity. We lean toward generous equity grants - we want the people building Ambience to share meaningfully in what they create.

If you're outside the stated range, we'd still encourage you to apply. We take an individualized approach to compensation.
