What you can expectKey Responsibilities - Build and strengthen relationships with customer technical representatives and decision makers.
- Identify customer needs, buying influences, current trends, and new project opportunities.
- Support the implementation of customer strategies within the internal business network.
- Exchange information actively with other business units and cross-functional teams.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies for new products and customer requirements.
- Define suitable materials, process concepts, and production concepts for quotation and development phases.
- Support product cost optimization and define assumptions for cost calculations.
- Perform economic feasibility studies, including cost and project calculations.
- Review product tolerances, manufacturability, resource availability, and environmental aspects.
- Support supplier identification and selection for external services in cooperation with purchasing or supplier management.
- Initiate development activities and maintain product-related technical data.
- Support kick-off meetings for new product development, especially on technical topics.
- Define functional specifications for products and processes.
- Prepare control plans for slug and prototype manufacturing.
- Support equipment design kick-off and development of production concepts.
- Prepare work instructions for off-tool parts.
- Define and approve packaging and labeling solutions.
- Coordinate prototype and off-tool part production.
- Conduct or support prototype testing and evaluation.
- Compile setup documentation, dimensional sheets, and technical records.
- Identify product and process risks and define related safety instructions.
- Support employees in implementing safety-related requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in development, communication, and implementation processes.
- Support PPAP activities and apply Automotive Core Tools including APQP, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC.
What makes you special Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or similar is preferred.
- Experience in product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or an automotive supplier environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of product development, manufacturing processes, material selection, and technical feasibility evaluation.
- Experience with automotive quality planning and Core Tools is an advantage:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
- Understanding of cost calculation, manufacturability, and process optimization.
- Good technical documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
