Product Engineer General
Location: Allen, Park (Hybrid, 4 Days Onsite: Monday-Thursday)
Pay Rate: $42-$44/hr
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
Travel: Required (Kentucky, Kansas, and Ohio)

Overview
Epitec is seeking a Product Engineer to support vehicle launch and craftsmanship quality initiatives. This role is responsible for validating fit-and-finish requirements, assessing vehicle quality, analyzing dimensional data, and leading issue resolution efforts throughout critical launch phases. The ideal candidate will bring experience in automotive interior and exterior systems, craftsmanship audits, GD&T, and CAD review tools such as CATIA and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities
  • Measure vehicle-level interior and exterior margins and flushness to verify compliance with launch build requirements.
  • Validate Fit & Finish decks and identify part-to-part coordination concerns and quality issues.
  • Conduct Perceived Quality (PQ) Reviews using established audit checklists.
  • Lead CTQ (Critical to Quality) and Perceived Quality audits during vehicle launch phases including DCV, TT, PP, MP1, and MP2.
  • Document and communicate vehicle compliance results at each build event.
  • Generate issue lists and coordinate cross-functional binning sessions within one week of audit completion.
  • Create and maintain AIMS issues and provide ongoing status updates.
  • Analyze dimensional quality data to support OK-to-Grain assessments and pre-graining approvals.
  • Review AAR dimensional data and provide final approval recommendations.
  • Partner with Product Development, VOME Engineering, STA teams, and suppliers to track and resolve fit-and-finish concerns.
  • Monitor craftsmanship metrics and quality performance indicators throughout the product launch lifecycle.


Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of automotive interior and/or exterior engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience performing physical dimensioning and vehicle quality evaluations.
  • Proficiency with Teamcenter and VisMockup equivalent to a designer-level user.
  • Experience navigating and reviewing CAD data in CATIA and Teamcenter.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Experience applying DMAIC methodology and root-cause analysis techniques.
  • Background in craftsmanship audits, supplier quality reviews, and launch quality processes.
  • Experience analyzing dimensional quality reports, gap and flush measurements, and launch KPIs.
