What You'll DoAs a Product Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, improving, and supporting our product line while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design and improve overhead door products, components, and custom applications.
- Develop CAD drawings for track layouts, spring systems, and customer-specific solutions.
- Create, maintain, and improve Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the ERP system.
- Calculate optimal spring and hardware combinations for various door configurations.
- Evaluate new materials and components for quality, performance, and manufacturability.
- Conduct product testing, including wind load testing, to ensure compliance with DASMA standards.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to solve technical challenges.
- Provide technical guidance to customers, architects, builders, and internal teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
- Maintain engineering documentation and technical specifications.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- 3-5 years of engineering experience within the overhead door industry.
- Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) in an ERP system.
- Strong analytical, mechanical design, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with CAD software and engineering drafting practices.
- Previous experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Excel
- ERP software experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
