Job Description :
Overview
We are seeking an experienced PVT Engineer to serve as the first line of defense for vehicle quality, directly impacting customer satisfaction and brand reputation. This role will provide hands-on engineering support within a fast-paced automotive assembly plant, focusing on Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS), wiring systems, vehicle quality, warranty analysis, and root cause resolution.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive quality, manufacturing, product development, or program engineering and possess exceptional problem-solving skills to identify, contain, and permanently correct vehicle electrical issues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site engineering support for vehicle wiring and EDS-related concerns affecting quality, warranty, First Time Through (FTT), ergonomics, Stop Ships, and Stop Builds.
  • Perform daily warranty claim triage and issue categorization using IRIS and SIMPSN systems.
  • Analyze warranty data, connected vehicle data, End-of-Line (EOL), and QLS metrics to identify emerging concerns and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead cross-functional root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, A3, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Develop and implement Interim Containment Actions (ICA) and Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA) to protect customers and production operations.
  • Present technical findings and quality updates during Functional Quality Reviews (FQR), Director Quality Reviews (DQR), and Vehicle Quality Reviews (VQR).
  • Lead Variability Reduction Team (VRT) activities for electrical and wiring sub-systems.
  • Support vehicle diagnostics and resolution of electrical concerns found during testing, audits, and final vehicle inspections.
  • Manage quality-related activities associated with minor product launches and engineering changes.
  • Initiate and manage WERS Concerns (CRs) and engineering alerts while supporting plant trials and change implementation activities.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Product Development, STA teams, suppliers, and sister plants to drive common solutions and best practices.
  • Lead plant trials focused on quality improvements, cost reductions, and supplier-driven enhancements.
  • Participate in vehicle pre-builds, launch activities, and implementation of new systems and processes.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Development, Quality Engineering, Program Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering within an automotive environment.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and automotive quality processes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional problem-solving efforts.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
