About This RoleThe Director of Program Management (DPM) is responsible for leading and overseeing multiple complex, cross-functional programs to ensure successful delivery on time, within budget, and in alignment with client and organizational objectives. This role drives program execution by coordinating and prioritizing resources across projects, balancing competing business needs, and proactively managing program risks and financial performance. The DPM partners closely with project teams, functional leaders, and clients to maintain operational excellence, optimize resource utilization, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality outcomes.
What You Will Do- Client & Team Management responsibility including overall client satisfaction & profitability
- Coordinate with executive management to develop performance measurement criteria consistent with the business plan
- Provide program management oversight, ensuring that sound program management skills, including proper planning, task scheduling, and budget tracking are performed
- Drive services business for profitable growth while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Escalate critical issues such as budget, technical risks, business opportunities, etc., to appropriate leadership
- Ensure the delivery of programs in compliance with Veranex's product development processes
- Demonstrate proactive approach to problem identification and solutions
- Engage in continuous process improvements, best practices development and education activities
Client Management
- Participate as a management representative / senior advisor to client programs as appropriate
- Lead client deliverable reviews
- Maintain high level client relationships
- Participate in new business pitches and preparation, drafting program proposals, advising on approach and budget and resource estimates
- Manage relationships and communicate with sub-contractors, proactively monitoring quality of deliverables & their resources
Portfolio Oversight
- Reporting responsibilities to the Head of Program Management and service line leaders
- Develop project plans and execution strategies for programs to win bids and provide the client with the support they need; guide project teams on strategy and client goals
- Work across departments that may include Operations, Marketing and Business Development resources to create and execute a client and/or market specific-based business development and marketing strategies
- Contribute, track, and report regularly on portfolio performance (update 2-4 dashboards per month)
- Achieve portfolio performance & financial targets as assigned by the executive team
- Review development and revisions of ongoing program proposals and budget and resource estimates
- Support business development activities by identifying client leads through referrals, active networking, and other marketing activities
- Contribute or speak at conferences, webinars, etc. in support of the business group needs.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 12+ years of successful experience with program management and technical leadership in product development of diagnostics and/or medical equipment and device development, or its equivalent.
- Strong ability to successfully manage client relationships from project initiation through the development process
- Knowledge of the professional services industry
- Flexibility to perform and manage a wide range of activities and willingness to "wear many hats"
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with project team and client
- Must be willing to work within a collaborative team environment
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to analyze resource commitments, project success criteria and other key indicators to provide interventions/adjustments as needed
- Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with other corporate management
- Familiarity with appropriate FDA, QSR, and ISO regulations: design controls, document controls, design verification and validation, hazard analysis techniques, regulatory approval methods, and overall medical device industry knowledge
- Experience in electromechanical design and development from disposable devices to capital equipment.
- Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes, including injection molding of plastics, machining methods, rapid prototyping techniques, sheet metal fabrication, etc.
- Experience in leading concept generation activities.
- Understanding of Human Centered Industrial Design & Usability research activities and their interface with engineering.
- Understanding of Mechanical engineering development processes utilizing 3D CAD or related engineering software techniques
- Understanding of electronics and software development
- Understanding of Voice of the Customer and User Needs research activities and processes
