Full Job Description
Product Development Internship Program - Summer 2027

Key Role Details
  • This is a full-time paid internship program spanning ten weeks from June through August 2027.
  • Participation in the internship requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital One's hybrid working model, for the duration of the program.
  • Interns will be evaluated for a full-time position within our rotational programs, with start dates approximately one year following the completion of the internship.


At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (e.g. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, E-3, and O-1, or any other forms of work authorization that require immigration support from an employer).

Basic Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher with an expectation that you will complete your most recent full-time degree program by August 2028 or earlier (for example: If you are graduating with a Bachelor's degree in May 2027 and are also currently enrolled in a full-time Master's degree program with an expected graduation date of May 2028, then your most recent full-time degree program is your Master's degree)
  • Must be continuing in the same course of study of your most recent full-time degree program following completion of the internship


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in product management, software delivery, data science, software engineering, or leveraging software to solve customer and business problems
  • Preferred majors include Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related majors


Product Development Internship Program - 2027

As a Product Development Intern, you will apply your strategic and innovative skills to influence some of the most important products at Capital One. This internship will challenge you to understand and manage priorities of customer needs, business strategy, and technology. You will work closely with expert designers, developers, business analysts and data scientists in an agile, collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibilities, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.

In your role, you might:
  • Partner with other product managers to ship, scale, and improve products that delight our customers and position our company for substantial growth. You will work alongside your product team and learn how to strategically influence product direction and prioritize features, actively manage a backlog, and clear impediments for the team.
  • Contribute to the success of features for your product. You will test and learn your way to something new while taking into account business strategy, market analysis, user feedback, analytics, and technology best practices.
  • Learn how to craft and drive business strategy from experts. You will hone your problem solving skills by deeply understanding our business, developing customer empathy, and integrating multiple streams of data.
  • Collaborate with internal partners. You will coordinate with your team to deliver the vision while building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Engage with a network of developers, designers, analysts, data scientists, customers and other subject-matter experts and leverage them to build cutting-edge products.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $109,000 - $109,000 for Intern, Product Management

Plano, TX: $99,000 - $99,000 for Intern, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
