Product Development Engineer - ElectroMechanicalElyria, OH, United StatesThe Job: As a Product Development Engineer - ElectroMechanical, you'll be part of our Engineering team working as am onsite employee. You'll get to:
- Responsible for becoming intimately familiar with the makeup and functioning of Nelson drawn arc welding Systems.
- Create CAD drawings, models in NX Unigraphics (UG) by elaborating upon rough conceptual sketches or verbal instructions.
- Creates final assembly drawings, manuals and bills of materials for Electro-mechanical systems.
- Develop systems diagrams and support electro-mechanical designs efforts as required.
- Experience selecting and specifying electronic and electrical components based on function, cost, availability, reliability etc. for use in Nelson drawn arc welding Systems.
- Create prototype builds: which include but are not limited to test boxes, special cable harnesses, fixtures, etc.
- Develops and designs electro-mechanical circuitry and devices for new applications, systems improvements and cost savings.
- Assists Operations, Service, Purchasing, and Quality departments in resolving technical questions or difficulties, and Responsible for maintaining associated documentation for production of Nelson Drawn Arc Welding Systems.
- Provides technical assistance in electrical and electro-mechanical matters to customers as required by the service or sales departments.
- Provides support for validation testing of Nelson Drawn Arc Welding Systems.

- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required. BSME or BSEE preferred.
- Prefer 2+ years of related on job experience with designing electromechanical systems that may include electric motors, solenoids, sensors, pneumatic/hydraulic units, PLCs, servo drives, etc.
- Experience in working from electrical schematics, rough sketches, CAD drawings, diagrams, layouts or plans often requiring interpretation.
- Require good mechanical aptitude, reasoning and problem solving skills and someone who is hands-on with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools.
- Familiar with the use of multi-meters, oscilloscopes, various assembly tools.
- 2+ years of Unigraphics (UG) design experience preferred.
- Experience in PDM (PTC/WindChill) systems at user level preferred.
- Proficient with the use of necessary tools including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, JTAG/in-circuit debuggers and various assembly tools.
- Proficient in high voltage: 575/480/400/120, 3 phase and single phase operations.
- Experience with power electronics and switching mode power supplies is highly desired.
- Prefer someone that is a self-starter and interested in contributing to multiple tasks in wide variety of roles and those who love to learn new things and have a passion for electronics, electromechanical systems, and testing in general.
- Require strong organizational, communication skills, and ability to work with others in a team environment.

The Salary range for this position is $72,000.00 - $115,900.00
