To drive our next generation of innovation, we are seeking a Product Definition Engineer for our Performance Core Power team. In this role, you will contribute to the product and system definition for cutting-edge power solutions. Collaborating cross-functionally with IC design, systems, marketing, and validation teams, you will help execute the product roadmap for the world's most advanced AI processors and server infrastructure.
This role requires a multi-disciplinary background, combining a strong understanding of system-level challenges with knowledge of hardware, firmware, and software implementation. Working under the guidance of senior technical leadership, you will analyze system-level considerations from both CPU vendors and cloud/infrastructure customers to help shape VR architecture and product definition.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Interface with internal Renesas engineers, partners, and customers to capture technical challenges and system requirements.
- Translate Requirements: Convert customer system needs-including VR performance, configuration, control, and user experience-into actionable engineering and design specifications.
- Generate Technical Collateral: Author and maintain critical technical documentation, including product requirement documents (PRDs), system use cases, and basic API definitions.
- Evaluate Trade-offs: Work closely with marketing and design teams to evaluate and quantify trade-offs between feature integration and development schedules.
QualificationsWe are looking for an engineer with solid technical fundamentals in power management and a strong desire to bridge the gap between customer systems and silicon design. Excellent technical communication skills are required.
Required Experience & Skills- Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years of semiconductor and systems experience (specifically within power electronics or power management ICs).
- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of multiphase DC/DC converters powering high-current ASICs or Intel/AMD/ARM processor systems.
- System Exposure: Experience contributing to the technical definition or application support of hardware and/or software products.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python, C, or other scripting languages for data analysis and system modeling.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to clearly document complex technical specifications.
Education- BS degree in Engineering (EE - Power Electronics or Microelectronics preferred). An MS degree is a plus.
