Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced
Technical Lead to guide the consolidation of two existing product teams into a unified, efficient, and cloud-aligned capability. Both teams support the same commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) electronic records management platform; however, only one product is currently operating in a cloud environment.
The focus of this role is to bring these efforts together under a
modernized, cloud-based architecture, reducing duplication, addressing technical debt, and establishing a cohesive technical roadmap. The selected candidate will work closely with engineering teams, stakeholders, and vendor partners to define and execute a clear path forward.
This role requires strong
AWS experience, proven technical leadership, and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on engineering support.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Consolidation & Planning- Assess the current state of two separate product teams, including processes, technologies, architectures, staffing models, and backlogs
- Develop a comprehensive Consolidation and Modernization Plan that includes:
- Overlap analysis and unification opportunities
- Technical modernization and cloud migration strategies
- Efficiency and cost-optimization opportunities
- Organizational, operational, and architectural risks
- Dependencies and phased roadmap milestones
- Present findings, risks, and recommended approaches to leadership and customer stakeholders
Technical Engineering & Cloud Enablement- Provide hands-on technical leadership and solutioning within an AWS environment, aligned with scalability, resiliency, and security best practices
- Identify and advise on application modernization approaches, including containerization and cloud-native architectures
- Define integration patterns, APIs, and shared services to support a consolidated product ecosystem
Vendor Engagement & COTS Integration- Coordinate with the COTS vendor to understand product roadmaps, deployment models, and platform readiness
- Evaluate containerized or cloud-enabled capabilities and assess integration feasibility
- Translate vendor capabilities into clear technical recommendations and impact assessments
- Present integration strategies and technical guidance to customer leadership
Team & Stakeholder Coordination- Work directly with engineering teams to align processes, establish unified technical standards, and reduce redundancy
- Facilitate collaboration and communication to support adoption of the consolidation roadmap
- Support Agile ceremonies and backlog refinement aligned to unified priorities
- Provide clear status reporting, risk identification, and milestone tracking to leadership
Required Qualifications- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
- Twelve (12) or more years of experience in software development or engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- A Master's degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting or developing solutions in AWS
- Strong ability to analyze customer requirements, identify system improvements, and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Experience supporting or integrating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products
- Development or scripting experience to support system configuration, integration, or automation
- General familiarity with Microsoft enterprise environments and collaboration tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage customers and technical teams effectively
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across engineering and product teams
- Availability to support core collaboration hours Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
Desired Skills- Experience supporting enterprise-scale rollouts and managing stakeholder expectations
- Prior experience consolidating teams, systems, or platforms across large programs
- Experience coordinating vendor engagements and evaluating technical product roadmaps
- Familiarity with electronic records management or document/content management solutions
