Full Job Description
Qualifications
  • 2+ years as a business analyst, product analyst, or similar role supporting software development. Experience in operations, reporting, or financial analysis roles does not substitute.
  • You have written user stories with acceptance criteria and participated in grooming with a development team.
  • You have gathered and documented requirements from stakeholders, with support from a senior analyst or lead when the ask was ambiguous.
  • You have tested features before release and validated fixes or enhancements in production.
  • You have pulled or built a report or dashboard that someone else used to make a decision.
  • Comfortable working across web applications, mobile apps, backend APIs, and SQL - enough to trace an issue and know when to escalate.
  • Exposure to testing, QA, or root cause analysis of production issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting your work to stakeholders.

Strongly preferred
  • Experience owning a piece of a product area through a full release cycle or more.
  • Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or Technical BA background, or BA experience at a product or software company.
  • Familiarity with Shortcut, Jira, or similar work management tools.
  • ServiceNow or a comparable ticket management system.
  • Exposure to CMS platforms, mobile apps, or enterprise SaaS products.

Who you are

The right person is coachable, self-managed, and does not wait to be told there is a problem. Beyond the qualifications, we are looking for someone who is:
  • A problem solver who wants ownership and works to get there.
  • Organized - you keep track of your own work without needing to be chased down.
  • Intellectually curious - you pick up new domains quickly and ask good questions when you don't know something.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity - you can devise a path forward on a loosely defined problem and know when to check your approach with someone more senior.
  • Comfortable with data - you can pull it, read it, and explain what it shows.
  • A clear communicator who builds relationships easily.
  • Genuinely open to feedback - you seek it out, not just receive it when it's handed to you.

About the Role

This analyst is embedded with a software development team, supporting a product area alongside a senior analyst or lead. You write the stories, help keep the board current, test what ships, and build toward owning a product area end to end.

World Wide Technology's ATC Development team builds and supports the platforms our business runs on: public-facing web applications, internal business tools, mobile applications, and enterprise learning and lab environments. Our analysts sit between the business and the developers. They write the stories, help own the board, contribute to stakeholder conversations, test the releases, and answer for the outcome.

This is not a reporting or business process role. If your experience is analyzing operations, producing recurring reports, or documenting procedures, this is a different job than the one you have been doing. Analysts here may be aligned to one or more product areas and may shift focus as business needs evolve. As you build independent judgment, this role is the on-ramp to Senior (Product) Analyst - and from there to Lead Analyst, Solutions Architect, or Team Lead.

Responsibilities:
  • Build trust with the stakeholder group, dev team, QA, and UX designers.
  • Be the advocate for the customer.
  • Turn requirements into well-defined stories with clear acceptance criteria and participate actively in grooming with your team.
  • Know your board - what is in flight, what is next - and keep it current.
  • Participate/lead stakeholder meetings and working sessions and take ownership of smaller sessions.
  • Test features and releases, including production validation on release days. Expect roughly 10-15% of your week in testing.
  • Pull product usage and metrics to support the decisions stakeholders are making.
  • Triage and resolve ServiceNow tickets for your product areas with urgency and a customer service mindset.
  • Maintain clear documentation every release - processes, enhancements, and system changes.
  • Support root cause analysis of production issues and pitch in on release days.
  • Flag gaps and surface opportunities you notice - you don't need to wait to be asked.
  • Use AI tools as part of your workflow and work in Agile throughout.
  • Support a product area, building toward owning it end to end.
