Job Title: Procurement SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Procurement Supervisor (Sourcing Supervisor) serves in a hands-on, player-coach leadership role, leading a team of three buyers while actively managing sourcing and purchasing activities that keep production running and ensure customer commitments are met. This role oversees approximately $15 million in annual purchasing spend across 10 to 15 key supplier accounts or material categories and focuses on sourcing raw materials used to manufacture labeling solutions, including inks, adhesives, coatings, roll goods, and related production materials. The Procurement Supervisor drives cost savings, strengthens supplier performance, and supports cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency and supply chain reliability.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of three buyers, providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, performance management, and overall team leadership.
- Oversee sourcing and purchasing activities to ensure material availability, quality, cost competitiveness, and on-time delivery for production needs.
- Manage supplier relationships, including supplier selection, contract negotiations, performance reviews, and development of ongoing strategic partnerships.
- Drive annual cost savings initiatives through effective negotiations, market analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Manage inventory health to balance customer service levels, production requirements, and working capital objectives.
- Support procurement of direct materials such as roll goods, adhesives, coatings, inks, and other manufacturing materials required for labeling solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Service to support business objectives and product lifecycle initiatives.
- Monitor commodity and market trends to identify risks, opportunities, and appropriate sourcing strategies.
- Manage departmental processes, documentation, budgeting, and ERP data while ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
- Contribute to the development and execution of supply chain strategies that improve operational efficiency and enhance supplier performance.
- Use procurement, direct procurement, vendor management, purchasing, contract management, and negotiation skills to support business goals and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Essential Skills- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, buying, supply planning, or a related supply chain function.
- At least 2 years of formal people leadership, team lead, supervisory, or significant team-development experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading supplier negotiations and managing supplier performance.
- Experience sourcing materials, services, equipment, or production-related commodities.
- Experience managing cost-reduction initiatives and delivering measurable purchasing savings.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and purchasing-related technology.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed sourcing decisions.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and drive cost savings.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address supply issues and mitigate risks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience sourcing roll goods, adhesives, inks, coatings, films, paper products, labels, or comparable direct-material commodities.
- Experience managing procurement spend related to contract manufacturing, domestic freight, or international trade.
- Global sourcing or international supplier-management experience.
- Experience participating in or executing Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes.
- Experience working in a customized manufacturing, labeling, printing, medical, laboratory, automotive, or industrial production environment.
- Experience managing an annual purchasing budget or spend portfolio of approximately $15 million or more.
- Proficiency with Epicor ERP.
- Interest in contributing to a stable, long-standing organization where procurement leadership directly impacts cost savings, supplier performance, inventory health, and production continuity.
Work EnvironmentThe role is primarily onsite with core hours typically between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility based on business needs. The organization offers practical flexibility to accommodate appointments, family needs, and unexpected situations. The anticipated schedule includes approximately one work-from-home day per week, depending on business requirements and team priorities. Travel is expected to be no more than 10%, primarily for supplier visits within Minnesota, along with occasional conferences or other business-related travel. The environment is production- and supply-chain-focused, with close collaboration across manufacturing, engineering, planning, quality, and customer service teams, and regular use of ERP systems and related purchasing technologies.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
