Full Job Description
As a CBRE Procurement Sr. Manager, you'll be responsible for managing a team of employees responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing service provider for outsourced services. You will also assist multiple clients or departments with the development and execution of complex sourcing and procurement strategies. This job is part of the Procurement function. They are responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods, services, or raw materials from vendors and suppliers. What You'll Do: • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees. • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed. • Assist with the development of company-wide policies and procedures, playbooks, and other organizational materials. • Work with business stakeholders, operational, global shared services team members and executive sponsors to develop, coordinate, and execute strategy at local, regional, and global levels. • Draft, review, negotiate, and maintain global and regional contracts and other business documents in support of the purchase of large quantities of goods and services. • Lead the procurement workstream for new and expanding client accounts, from pre-award through go-live • Contribute to bids and proposals, including developing RFI/RFP content and presenting procurement strategy to clients • Serve as a confident procurement SME in client-facing settings, able to discuss complex sourcing strategies clearly with both technical and executive audiences • Develop category-level sourcing strategies for lab instrument services, calibration, consumables, and associated vendor support across client portfolios • Conduct market analysis, supply base assessments, and spend analytics to identify consolidation, dual-sourcing, and cost reduction opportunities • Build global strategic relationships with suppliers and vendors to drive standardization, efficiencies, and cost savings • Serve as the primary commercial contact for key vendors, maintaining strong relationships while holding suppliers accountable to contracted terms • Lead client-facing conversations related to contract transitions, sourcing decisions, vendor changes, and cost impacts • Act as primary procurement point of contact for client-facing bids and transitions activities • Communicate renewal status, spend performance, and sourcing initiatives through structured reporting - including Smartsheet dashboards and Power BI reports • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans. • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity. • Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline. What You'll Need: • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, or contract management experience, preferably in life sciences, lab services, or facilities management • In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. • C.P.M., C.P.S.M. or N.A.C.M. certifications preferred • Demonstrated experience leading contract transitions or account mobilizations, including asset onboarding, supplier engagement, and stakeholder coordination • Proficiency in Smartsheet, Excel, and Power BI - able to build trackers, dashboards, and reports without significant support. • Strong analytical skills: ability to benchmark spend, model contract options, and present findings clearly to client and internal stakeholders • Confident communicator with experience engaging both internal teams and external clients on sourcing and contract matters • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred. • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems. • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department. • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive self-starter mindset. • Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial figures.
