ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our corporate procurement team. The Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Executes purchasing of materials, supplies, or services at varying dollar thresholds (i.e. micro purchase, simplified acquisition threshold, cost accounting standard, etc) .
- Conducts strategic sourcing, which may include, Request for Quote (RFQ) preparation including applicable prime contract/solicitation clause extraction, proposal evaluation, price/cost analysis, contract negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration.
- Ability to read, interpret and extract critical information from government solicitations and procurement documents.
- Collaborate with capture teams on customer solicitation instructions, terms and conditions, contract clauses, and procurement requirements to ensure proposal compliance.
- Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
- Tracks the status of quote validity, requisitions, contracts, and orders and keeps stakeholders apprised of status.
- Selects, and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, quality, and service.
- Follows up on all awards until completion of order.
- Prepares purchase orders and sends copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
- Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding terms and conditions, damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering change orders.
- Oversees and/or conducts supplier site visits as necessary.
- Issues RFQs and POs in compliance with the FAR
- Manages a portfolio tied to multiple programs and proposals
Qualifications
- Requires 5+ years with BS/BA or 3+ years with a MA/MS
- 9+ years of relevant work experience may be substituted for degree.
- Proficiency in MS Office and related software.
- Experience with Federal and/or DoD supply chain management policies and procedures and the FAR.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Costpoint and Ivalua
- Experience establishing effective partnerships within and outside the organization.
- Detail oriented, ability to multitask, organized, problem solver who works well under pressure with a sense of urgency.
- Customer service oriented professional.
- Experience managing competing priorities and ability to deliver across multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be a US citizen
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with government lifecycle management.
- Experience with managing budgets and forecasting future procurements.
- Experience with terms and conditions negotiations and price negotiations
- Familiar with Costpoint and/or Ivalua procurement tools
- Experience with Risk Management
Target Salary Range$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
