Procurement Specialist III

JOB SUMMARY:

The Procurement Specialist III is responsible for overseeing and executing complex procurement tasks. This role involves managing large, high-profile EPC projects, sourcing materials, maintaining procurement logs, and ensuring smooth coordination between internal teams and vendors. The Procurement Specialist III plays a key role in resolving issues related to material procurement and subcontractors and supports the Procurement Department in achieving operational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior procurement specialists, ensuring adherence to best practices and efficient task execution.
  • Source and procure materials required by engineering and project management teams for large and high-profile EPC projects.
  • Independently manage procurement processes for large-scale projects, including material sourcing, purchase orders, and vendor negotiations.
  • Maintain and update purchase order logs and project-related spreadsheets, ensuring accurate tracking of procurement activities.
  • Expedite material purchases and rental equipment to ensure timely delivery and project continuity.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve issues such as missing materials, Proof of Delivery (POD) requests, quotes, and lead time adjustments.
  • Coordinate vendor drawings and technical specifications with engineering and manufacturers to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Identify and resolve complex procurement issues, such as material shortages or subcontractor delays, minimizing project disruptions.
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and field questions regarding procurement tasks, offering solutions and clear information.
  • Relay procurement-related information to other departments, ensuring seamless communication and timely updates.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support procurement operations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, or equivalent, education is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or other applicable field is preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years direct procurement experience with proven success supporting purchasing, Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procurement processes and systems.
  • Strong reading and writing skills with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision, while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in all procurement activities.
