Overview

Susquehanna is seeking a Technology Procurement Specialist to join a team focused on developing & implementing procurement strategies that cross every facet of technology and market data at Susquehanna. Your role will span initial deal analysis through market evaluation and contract implementation, including analyzing current vendor spend and deliveries.  This analysis will be leveraged as you interface with internal technical teams directly to provide insight to them regarding the goods and services their teams are utilizing and provide insight into how best to optimize procurement strategies to address their needs.

 

You will have the opportunity to build relationships with both existing and new vendors to understand their current product portfolios as well as future product directions for their usability and impact within the firm.  All of this, including your insight into overall vendor performance and market trends, will be instrumental in the analysis and recommendations you provide to your internal client groups as well as to our senior management team.  Through your efforts, you will also have an opportunity to implement improvements to our technology procurement processes to increase overall efficiency and transparency.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of technology procurement and market data deals crossing hardware, software and data related technologies
  • Develop negotiation strategy and appropriate deal structure, including conducting market surveys of alternative solutions
  • Analyze and negotiate maintenance renewal contracts
  • Establish relationships with vendors and their competitors in order to obtain additional value beyond the exchange of goods and services
  • Engage vendors to augment and validate our strategies and approaches as well as to provide insights into future product directions
  • Serve as central point of contact for issues with vendors’ services, product quality and speed of execution
  • Act as the central point of entry for vendors who have large product portfolios that span multiple teams within SIG
  • Generate and analyze reports on procurement trends and future expenditures
What we’re looking for
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a vendor management/analysis or similar role including experience with contract negotiations in an enterprise technology environment required
  • Previous experience working with large vendors (hardware, software and market data) required
  • Effective negotiation skills and knowledge of closing techniques required
  • Must possess a solid understanding of information technology and/or market data
  • In depth understanding of the technical environment and available technology as well as the knowledge of business and technical domains supported required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
