Collins Aerospace is hiring a Procurement Manager to manage a portfolio of approximately 20-30 suppliers, primarily supporting the Oxygen & Passenger Service Unit Systems. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers and act as a key liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning, and Program teams. The position will focus on managing supplier performance, procurement activities, material availability, and delivery commitments while proactively identifying and resolving risks related to quality, capacity, and supply continuity. This role requires strong supplier relationship management, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive recovery actions and continuous improvement to support production and customer commitments.

This is a remote role that may have up to 20% travel.

What You Will Do
  • Manage day-to-day procurement activities for an assigned portfolio of materials, components, and suppliers.
  • Place and manage purchase orders, including maintaining delivery schedules, quantities, pricing, and other commercial requirements.
  • Monitor supplier commitments and proactively identify risks to production, customer delivery, and business continuity.
  • Drive recovery actions for past-due and at-risk purchase orders, including expediting, rescheduling, and escalation as appropriate.
  • Develop strong working relationships with suppliers and serve as a primary point of contact for procurement-related issues.
  • Analyze demand, inventory, lead times, open orders, and supplier capacity to identify potential supply gaps.
  • Partner with Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Program teams to resolve material and supplier issues.
  • Support supplier performance improvement initiatives related to delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Negotiate delivery commitments, pricing, lead times, and other commercial terms within established procurement strategies and guidelines.
  • Support sourcing activities, RFQs, supplier selection, new product introduction, and transition activities as assigned.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve lead time, optimize inventory, and mitigate supply chain risk.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data and ensure purchase orders and supplier information are aligned with business requirements.
  • Support material shortage and escalation processes, providing clear status, recovery plans, and risk assessments to leadership.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Collins Aerospace policies, contractual requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Use ERP and supply chain systems to monitor requirements, manage purchase orders, and support material planning and execution.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and develop standardized processes that improve procurement efficiency and supplier performance.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, materials management, operations, or a related field.
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Experience managing suppliers, purchase orders, or material requirements.
  • Experience with shortage management, supplier recovery plans, risk mitigation, and escalation processes.
  • Knowledge and application of Continuous Improvement methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of issues, and drive actions to completion.


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements.
  • Experience working within a quality management system and familiarity with AS9100 requirements.
  • Experience with MRP, material requirements planning, and production scheduling.
  • Experience managing complex or critical suppliers with significant production impact.
  • Knowledge of supplier performance metrics such as OTIF, past-due orders, lead time, quality, and cost.
  • Experience with strategic sourcing, RFQs, negotiations, long-term agreements, and supplier development.
  • APICS/ASCM certification or other supply chain/procurement certification.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers without direct authority.
  • Experience working with military, government, or customer-specific procurement requirements.
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 10-20% of the time.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
