Qualifications and Detail about the Position

Summary:

Broad Function

The Procurement Manager is responsible for the implementation and execution of cost-effective strategies for the purchase of commodities and services for Brock. This position provides direction, supervision, and coordination of the procurement function, including acquisition planning, preparation of solicitations for bids, proposals and contract award documents, negotiation of contracts, and contract modifications.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  • Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock's Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business
  • Oversee the strategic plan, policies, and procedures to align with the company's goals and objectives
  • Lead, motivate and direct a high functioning procurement team focused on bottom line results
  • Lead category management activities across all the company entities
  • Develop standard reports including scorecard, to communicate KPI performance of procurement function to various levels of the organization
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and manage the most complex or strategically important supplier and vendor relationships
  • Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, terms/conditions, and acceptability of items to specifications
  • Establish long-lasting "win-win" relationships with reliable and sustainable suppliers for major commodities and services
  • Monitor contract execution and supplier performance to ensure an efficient procurement process
  • Maintain and actively manage contracts in ERP system
  • Initiate timely renewal / replacement process for expiring contracts to maintain the flow of goods and services to the business
  • Identify common contract risk areas and advise procurement and business leadership on the risks
  • Propose opportunities to reduce purchasing costs
  • Track company spend and provide ad-hoc status report and updates to senior management

  • Working conditions include outdoor and indoor field, yard, and shop locations.
  • Working indoors in an office environment.
  • Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment as necessary.
  • Travel as required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience, industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • CPSM, CPM, PMI certification preferred.
  • Experience working within matrix organizations.
  • Strategic sourcing and negotiation experience required.
