Job Description

The Director, Procurement leads sourcing strategies and optimization of sourcing and procurement processes, systems, and tools across the region. Leads up to $800M+ in direct and indirect goods and services spend portfolio across all sourcing categories (e.g., Laboratory / Operating Supplies and Services, Technology, Travel, Fleet, Professional Services, Field Equipment, Logistics, Real Estate and Facilities) within a large, complex, dynamic, and regulated matrix organization.
  • Establishes and maintains regional business partner relationships with key stakeholders to ensure deep understanding of needs and strategies to deliver sustainable and profitable P&L efficiencies.
  • Supports the development of regional category SME's and drives supply chain and category management strategies. Serves as an active member of a regional Procurement Leadership Team to drive strategy and deploy sourcing and procurement initiatives, while adhering to internal standards, policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and leads initiatives that promote the maturity of the Procurement and Vendor Management functions
  • Develops and advances reporting, governance, knowledge management, and communication across the business.
  • Ensures effective risk management and control of the supply base through robust contracts and monitoring of financials SLAs and KPIs and through compliance of corporate policies, systems and controls.
  • Recommends, designs, and implements sourcing and procurement best practices and policies.
  • Supports the deployment of best-in-class supplier performance and relationship management programs.
  • Leads the management and rationalization of extensive number of suppliers to optimize the regional supply base and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides leadership to cross-functional business partners to maximize and continuously improve "total cost of ownership" for indirect goods and services.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, systems, and controls. Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures, and performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, or Finance, or in a related discipline,
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement management experience
  • 5+ years of experience of supervising employees

Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (MBA) in combination with experience listed above

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Language Skills - English (Advanced) - Required
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Technology savvy and well-versed in financial analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in GEP eSourcing tool (or other eSourcing tool) and Oracle E-Business Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Customer / client focus mindset
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret financial and regulatory information
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively present and discuss confidential information and respond to questions from leadership

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 - $140,000 CAD annually. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
