About the Role

The Associate Manager, Carrier Management & Procurement is responsible for leading strategic initiatives across carrier management, procurement, and transportation operations for Mexico and Cross-Border. This role ensures carrier performance, develops strategic supplier relationships, drives sourcing initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, optimize costs, and support business growth. The position requires strong leadership, analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for carrier integrations, invoicing, and payment-related issues.
  • Manage carrier onboarding and system connectivity through Carrier Portal, Macropoint, EDI, and API integrations.
  • Monitor carrier KPIs, including Check Call Compliance, On-Time Pickup (OTP), On-Time Delivery (OTD), and Timeliness.
  • Develop dashboards and performance reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and expand a strategic carrier network across Mexico and Cross-Border operations.
  • Lead carrier sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier selection processes.
  • Analyze transportation market trends, carrier performance, and cost drivers to support sourcing strategies.
  • Identify, execute, and monitor cost savings, network optimization, and procurement initiatives.
  • Build long-term strategic partnerships with carriers through supplier development and performance reviews.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members while fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing operational priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Travel to the United States as needed to strengthen carrier relationships and support business objectives.


Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation logistics, or supply chain.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Office skills.
  • Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience working with data analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Tableau or other Business Intelligence and dashboard platforms.
  • Knowledge of TMS platforms, Carrier Portal, Macropoint, EDI, and API integrations.
  • Experience in Mexico and Cross-Border transportation markets.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring teams.
  • Strong negotiation and strategic sourcing capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Flexible to travel internationally, primarily to the United States, as business needs require.
