Job DescriptionIn support of the Aerospace and Mission Systems sector, the Supply Chain Support Specialist is responsible for assisting the Preferred Distributor Suppliers program facing managers, proactively working with the programs addressing the challenges of material availability supporting sourcing a high mix of parts for electronic components and connectorsfor multiple BAE Systems' business areas and factory locations across our Aerospace and Mission Systems sector. An internal customer service mindset, collaboration PDS peers, programs and business areas, as well as cross-functional stakeholders, will be required to be successful in this role.
Key ResponsibilitiesERP & Data Integrity- Perform lead-time reviews and update lead-time data within the ERP system.
- Process buyer reassignments within the ERP to ensure correct ownership of parts and purchase orders.
- Identify incorrect package codes and update items accordingly.
- Support item status reviews, including evaluating Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) utilization and making necessary status adjustments.
Material Readiness & Program Support- Assist the team in proactively responding to program reviews (e.g., 30-day kit shortages, material readiness reviews).
- Support Program Kickoff activities, including Bill of Materials (BOM) scrubs and identifying potential material gaps.
- Attend Program Kickoff meetings as the Preferred Distribution Supplier (PDS) representative when needed.
- Provide coverage for SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) meetings and support material-related discussions.
- Help prioritize and expedite critical items, ensure timely follow-up, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
SMI & Inventory Management- Expedite items into SMI ahead of planned order releases to reduce workload and improve material availability.
- Support End-of-Life processes, including reviewing DMS notifications and coordinating SMI removals with suppliers.
Reporting, Analysis & Negotiation Support- Conduct data mining and pull reports to support ISPAN negotiations and supplier discussions.
- Use ERP and reporting tools to track critical items, highlight risks, and assist the team in developing action plans.

Required Skills and EducationRequired Qualifications- Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
- Foundational understanding of ERP/MRP systems and material planning processes.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to work in spreadsheets and reporting tools.
- High attention to detail and comfort working with structured data.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, follow up on open issues, and communicate clearly.
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a dynamic team environment.
Preferred Skills and Education- Familiarity with defense aerospace industry & regulations and the understanding of the role of procurement in complex industries.
- General awareness of FAR and DFAR regulations and the nature of flow down requirements.
- Knowledge of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) and EAR (Export Administration Regulation)
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, (IE: Oracle, SAP, etc.)
- Technical Background, comfort with translating technical requirements into action within the supply base.
- 3 plus years' experience in operations, supply chain, procurement, supplier quality.
