POSITION TITLE / LOCATION:

Process Improvement Manager - Salisbury, MA

POSITION REPORTS TO:

Plant Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

The individual in this position will participate in a dynamic learning experience while contributing to the division's growth goals. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position works independently or in conjunction with other managers, Value Stream Managers, area leads, quality, and maintenance personnel in analyzing and developing solutions to processes in the direct support of manufacturing. This includes modification, design and development of processes, cost improvement initiatives and quality improvement projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Improvement Leadership
  • Support execution of quality, productivity, and cost improvement projects for the location
  • Ensure that the Process Improvement team has the tools, knowledge, and resources to complete assigned projects
  • Support process control efforts to enable consistent product and manufacturing performance
  • Identify and address opportunities for improvement in products or manufacturing processes
  • Identify and resource cost savings projects for the location
  • Incorporate creative thinking into the problem-solving approach to identify unique and different ways to make things better/more consistent/faster/cheaper/efficient
  • Communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of associates to accomplish project and location goals
  • Ensure that technical needs of production team are met
  • Support transfer and industrialization of New Products and Processes from the R&D team to full production


Technology Leadership
  • Understand and act on the technical needs of the plant and product portfolio
  • Use a structured problem-solving methodology to implement robust solutions to technical challenges of the business
  • Facilitate and take ownership of potential new equipment/automation investment


MPS Champion
  • Leverages Continuous Improvement methodologies to coach Process Improvement team on problem solving, cost reduction, and quality improvement
  • Support development of problem solving, leadership, process control as well as other skillsets and behaviors within the process improvement team and the broader location teams
  • Lead plant cost savings efforts - yield, quality, productivity
  • Develop problem solving talent within the
  • Ownership of yield and productivity project results
  • Using Zero-Loss-Thinking, evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in [Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, etc.] engineering
  • 5 Years' Experience in Manufacturing environment
  • Leadership Experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with data analysis, continuous improvement methodologies, root cause analysis tools, lean tools, and other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10 Years' manufacturing experience
  • 5 years leadership experience
  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement Methodologies (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Textile Manufacturing or Substrate Coating Experience
  • Black Belt Certification

Lifting: Ability to lift to 25 lbs. - 100% of day

Ascending/Descending: Ability to walk upstairs, climb to top of range (approx. 16 ft) - 50% of day

Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull/reach - 5% of day

Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor - 25% of day

Visual Acuity: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.- 100% of day

Cognitive: Alert. Able to make decisions, reason, and understand information. - 100% of day

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and occasionally works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level can be medium to loud. Temperatures can vary depending upon the time of year and outside impacts.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $140,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
