Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgical, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in mineral processing within the mining industry, including team leadership.
• Practical experience with heap leach, Merrill Crowe, refinery, and crushing operations.
• Experience supervising crews and shift supervisors, focusing on team development and accountability.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate across large, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Skilled in both short and long-range planning for heap leach operations.
• Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting in mining operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Project, and Access.
• Comfortable with operating and troubleshooting computerized systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to ensure stable and efficient process operations.
• Identify and troubleshoot operational deficiencies, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Lead and mentor process supervisors and operators in best practices across all operations activities.
• Develop and track performance goals and development plans for direct reports.
• Design, implement, and deliver training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for process operations.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities with maintenance, electrical, mining, and other processing departments.
• Actively participate in daily operations to promote safe and effective work practices.
• Monitor and analyze metallurgical performance, recommending improvements to enhance plant efficiency.
• Review monthly production and cost data to identify and explain budget variances.
