The Process & Platforms Excellence team is looking for a Process Excellence Lead.

The Process Excellence Lead, reporting to a Manager, plays a key role in advancing operational modernization and fostering continuous improvement by leading process redesigns that boost performance, efficiency, and effectiveness. Working closely with business operations and modernization leaders, this role helps design and implement process excellence projects, assesses opportunities for ongoing improvement, and contributes to broader business modernization initiatives.

What you will do
  • In-depth analysis of existing processes to identify areas require re-engineering
  • Thinking outside the box to devise entirely new ways of processing tasks
  • Gather quantitative and qualitative data through conducting focus groups, internal surveys, interviews, job shadows and time studies, etc. virtually and/or in-person
  • Analyze findings including large and complex data sets and reports
  • Prepare process maps and analyze them for improvement opportunities
  • Propose process improvements informed by data analysis through the application of Lean methodologies
  • Perform business process redesign to meet organizational goals and drive business modernization efforts
  • Drive design and execution of the process re-engineering projects
  • Significant contributor to business cases by quantifying and qualifying operational impacts
  • Provide analysis and reconciliation support through savings realization period
  • Develop an analysis to assess the impact of process changes on capacity, efficiency, quality, and other key performance indicators
  • Support continuous improvements framework in collaboration with the business partners
  • A pivotal contributor to shaping the future operational landscape of the business, in alignment with the Canada Life Modernization strategy
  • Key results include better customer experience, higher quality, and increased productivity to support business goals.

Qualifications:
  • University Degree in the Industrial engineering, business administration, computer science, etc. or equivalent experience or qualifications
  • Professional certification(s) related to process design and improvement (Lean Six Sigma; Lean Analysis; Business Analysis)
  • 3+ years experience leading and delivering operational process improvements or initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills with experience creating and leading presentations to senior leadership
  • Skilled at building strong, collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively, coach and support project teams
  • High proficiency (8/10) with Excel, PowerPoint; Process mapping tools (SAP Signavio, Adonis, MS Visio), Competent (5/10) with PowerBI; Tableau; SQL; Azure Databricks; Minitab; Familiarity with ARENA; SIMUL8 are the asset
  • Financial services/insurance business knowledge is an asset


Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto and Winnipeg.

The base salary for this position is between $75,500 - $125,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
