You'll lead the development, optimization, and control of complex processes that power JCI's breakthrough innovations-bringing together expertise across process control, metallurgy, machinery controls, chemistry, and experimental design. In this role, you won't just manage processes-you'll build and scale a high-performing Process Engineering team, fostering a culture that is not only technically rigorous, but also collaborative, and supportive. You'll spend time both in the lab and on the production floor, translating theory into practice, accelerating learning cycles, and driving continuous improvement where it matters most.

How you will do it - Technical Leadership - Run and participate in cross-disciplinary project teams working to address technical challenges or improve process capability
- Manufacturing Process Development - Contribute to a wide range of projects to improve the team's manufacturing technology, eventually becoming a go-to expert on the Stack Forging process across the organization
- Hiring and Onboarding - Rapidly grow the process engineering team while maintaining a healthy culture and technical excellence
- Mentorship - Lead and mentor the process engineering team to develop core engineering and process development skills, ensuring technical excellence and continuous growth.
- Technology Roadmapping and Stakeholder Management - Manage the roadmap for core process technologies, taking input from a wide range of stakeholders (spanning production technicians to commercial executives) and crafting a technology roadmap that creates meaningful business value with the team's resources on a reasonable timescale.
What you will need
RequiredA Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
7+ years of relevant experience in an engineering discipline, ideally within a complex manufacturing or process-intensive environment. You have been a high-performing individual contributor on one or more teams in the pas
2+ years of proven experience managing and leading a technical engineering team
Proven experience with key manufacturing process development tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, or MSA).
Preferred An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a relevant engineering or scientific field.
Deep expertise in one or more core process disciplines: process control, experimental design (DOE), or metallurgy, chemistry, manufacturing, or 3D printing.
Technical background or direct experience with laser processing, complex metal forming, or high-volume manufacturing readiness for advanced materials.
Experience in metal additive manufacturing, specialized forming processes, or thermal management systems
Experience with high-volume manufacturing, knowledge of what it takes to tweak a process or part to make 10,000's of a part per year
Proven ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear project scopes and business-aligned technology roadmaps.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $130,000 - 200,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
