Full Job Description
About the role:

As a Process Engineer you will develop, standardize, and continuously improve the detailed methods used to perform manufacturing work. The Process Engineer will work closely with operations, manufacturing engineering, weld engineering, quality engineering, and other stakeholders to capture proven practices, reduce variation, and improve execution across fabrication, machining, assembly, and inspection activities.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and be located at Newington, NH. You will support this role 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed, step-by-step technical work instructions that define how manufacturing tasks are performed.
  • Translate engineering drawings, specifications, code requirements, contract requirements, quality requirements, and higher-level production orders into practical shop-floor methods.
  • Ensure process instructions complement, and do not conflict with, controlled production orders and other auditable manufacturing documentation.
  • Observe work on the shop floor and collaborate with experienced operators, technicians, inspectors, and engineers to document methods and critical process details.
  • Standardize work processes to improve safety, quality, repeatability, efficiency, and knowledge retention.
  • Identify process waste, variation, bottlenecks, and error-prone steps; support continuous-improvement activities using structured methods.
  • Define process controls, required tools and equipment, setup parameters, inspection points, acceptance criteria, precautions, and visual aids needed for successful execution.
  • Validate new or revised instructions through shop-floor trials, incorporate user feedback, and support controlled implementation and training.
  • Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions by improving work methods and documentation to prevent recurrence.
  • Establish process-performance measures, document lessons learned, and sustain improvements through periodic review and revision.
  • Provide on-the-floor technical support and facilitate collaboration among operations, engineering, quality, and production planning.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • We prefer experience in a manufacturing environment; applicants with exposure to fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and non-destructive testing (NDT) are desired.
  • Develop clear, detailed technical instructions, standard work, operating procedures, or similar controlled documentation.
  • Working knowledge of continuous-improvement and methods, such as Lean, value-stream mapping, 5S, root-cause analysis, or mistake-proofing.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Work in a shop-floor environment and translate operator knowledge and technical requirements into usable, repeatable processes.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
