The Process Engineer with be responsible for overall effectiveness for the packaging lines. This role is expected to organize, supervise, and direct maintenance workers in their daily tasks of conducting corrective, predictive, and preventative maintenance tasks. How You'll Make an Impact • Drive mechanical reliability and equipment uptime through effective use of CMMS Maintenance Connection software, coordinating preventive maintenance programs, corrective maintenance activities, and work order execution. • Partner with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and asset availability for critical production equipment, including palletizers, liquid fillers, box formers, depalletizers, and drum fillers. Lead regular reviews of equipment failures, identify root causes, and coordinate maintenance improvements and equipment upgrades. • Manage the complete maintenance workflow by creating, prioritizing, issuing, and tracking work orders, while developing and maintaining preventive maintenance (PM) procedures, schedules, and asset records within the CMMS. • Lead and support plant safety initiatives, including Control of Hazardous Energy (LOTO) and Machine Safety programs, ensuring safe work practices for employees and contractors. • Foster a strong safety culture by driving employee engagement, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO standards, environmental regulations, company policies, and site procedures, while maintaining all required documentation and records. • Develop and strengthen the maintenance organization through hands-on coaching, mentoring, technical training, and skill development for maintenance mechanics and electricians. • Provide off-shift and weekend support as needed to support a 24/5 manufacturing operation and ensure timely resolution of critical maintenance issues. • Manage spare parts inventory and critical equipment spares to support operational reliability. Create purchase orders, process goods receipts, and maintain inventory accuracy within SAP. • Support plant operations by leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives, small capital projects, process optimization efforts, and safety improvement projects. • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management to support business objectives, organizational priorities, and professional development opportunities. What You'll Need • Bachelor's degree in Engineering • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment • Coordinating technical support activities with external vendors and service providers. • Experince working in manufacturing operations • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and external partners. • Ability to travel: 1 - 3 weeks a year for training. Preferred Qualifications • Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment supporting process controls, safety, reliability, maintenance, or engineering functions. • Lean Six Sigma experience, demonstrated through successful leadership or participation in continuous improvement projects that delivered measurable business results. • Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience supporting industrial equipment and automated systems. • Working knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and industrial control systems. • Experience with SAP, CMMS platforms (Maintenance Connection preferred), and other manufacturing systems. • Understanding of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), preventive maintenance (PM) programs, and equipment performance optimization. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements • This role requires regular presence on the plant floor, lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent walking, bending, climbing, and stooping is required. • Environment: Infrequent time spent in temperature-controlled office. Majority of time will be spent in a mildly controlled production area. Work can also be done in varied outdoor weather conditions.
