Process Engineer
Process Engineers optimize unit performance to meet the refinery's safety, environmental, and economic objectives. They provide technical support for the operating units; which includes day-to-day and non-routine activities, process optimization, and continuous improvement. Process Engineers are assigned to and work closely with their operations department, while reporting directly to the Process Engineering Group.
Job Responsibilities May Include: - Use technical knowledge to review, monitor, and respond to process operations in order to:
- identify potential underlying process safety concerns
- meet production and quality targets
- optimize unit performance and yields
- relieve constraints, improve reliability, and minimize operating expenses
- Provide support for non-routine events including turnarounds, maintenance, troubleshooting, and projects
- Support the change management process through evaluation of operational and equipment modifications
- Interface with internal departments and external resources to provide unit support and identify opportunities
Position Specific Requirements: - Available in off hours and days to respond to refinery issues or emergencies, including on-call emergency response functions.
- Mix of computer-based office work and field inspection and testing in refinery plant units
- Physical Requirements:
- Climb ladders
- Walk up and down steps
- Lift 50 pounds
- Work in the Following Conditions:
- At heights
- Outside in inclement weather
- Work Schedule:
- Occasionally an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required (maintenance outages and turnarounds)
- Possess a valid Drivers' License

Minimum Qualifications: - STEM degree OR equivalent experience in a refinery
Preferred Qualifications:- B.S. in Chemical Engineering
- 3 years of experience in a refinery

The salary range for this position is $92,846.05 - $164,756.20. The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate's compensation. In addition to salary, PBF offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
