Process Engineer

Graymont is seeking a Process Engineer to join the team at its Pilot Peak Plant in West Wendover, Nevada. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer will produce measurable results in safety, process, quality, and reliability performance through the effective monitoring, analysis, and optimization of plant processes, while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Ensure that the highest standards are achieved in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, process efficiency, and reliability.
• Participate in cross functional teams to continuously improve plant technical knowledge, processes, and efficiency.
• Identify, develop, continuously improve, and communicate the best available process practices developed within Graymont.
• Participate in the development of project concepts, flow sheets, equipment specifications and layouts that incorporate Graymont and industry best practices.
• Analyze and identify process improvement opportunities including safety, efficiency, quality, and emissions related activities relating to limestone processing, calcination, hydration, and handling.
• Utilize technology and troubleshooting skills to identify / propose improvements for system bottlenecks.
• Develop, manage, and implement capital projects.
• Assist different departments to investigate and find the root cause of problems.
• Ensure that "all critical modifications" to processes are communicated and documented with Graymont's process and engineering support group.
• Keep abreast of the latest technological development in related industry.
• Function as a relief supervisor to assist with coverage for supervisory staff, performing "on call" duties in rotation with the management team.
• Work closely with the Remote Operations group.
• Work with Geology and the quarry on raw material testing and quality.
• This is a hands on in the field position expected to get dirty at times.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Education: B.Sc. degree in a technical engineering field.
• Professional Experience: 4+ years of engineering experience in lime, cement, or similar industrial minerals or heavy industries.
• Technology Requirements: Strong computer skillsin the MS 365.
• Beneficial Experience: Background in statistical analysis.
• Must be willing to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines or to ensure resolution of plant problems.
• Strong People skills.
• Self-starter with very strong teamwork and communication skills.
