If you're an engineer who enjoys solving complex manufacturing problems and driving continuous improvement, Crane Currency has an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer in Dalton, MA. How you will make an impact: As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes that support the production of secure, high-quality currency. You will analyze workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall process performance. Working cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and R&D teams, you will help drive innovation while maintaining rigorous quality and security standards. Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will directly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the success of our manufacturing operations. • Support product validation trials and testing activities to ensure product quality and performance. • Coordinate scale-up and validation trials with Supply Chain and R&D teams for new materials and product modifications. • Apply Six Sigma tools and methodologies to improve manufacturing processes and reduce variability. • Support the execution of reliable and safe manufacturing systems that improve production rates, yields, efficiencies, and costs. • Optimize, troubleshoot, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality. • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to minimize operational risks. • Prepare detailed reports documenting trial results, process improvements, and implemented changes. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process enhancements and support manufacturing excellence. Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role: Required: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (such as Papermaking Technology, Pulp and Paper Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering) or equivalent experience. • Co-op experience in a pulp and/or papermaking operation. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. • Training in statistical process control. • Experience working on projects and processes to develop and improve systems. Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to demonstrate and maintain suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust consistent with U.S. Government contract requirements. Preferred: • 3-5 years of industrial process engineering experience in the papermaking industry. • Six Sigma Green Belt certification. • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
