Full Job Description
Process Control Engineer

We are currently seeking a Process Control Engineer to support our Atlantic Operations. This role is a full time, max-term position, reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor and will be based at our Touquoy mine site located approximately 1-hour northeast of Halifax, near Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia.

The Opportunity:
  • Apply all applicable regulations, codes and corporate/site standards to all maintenance activities
  • Identify safety issues and encourage a site safe work culture with safety being top priority
  • Program PLC's and SCADA/HMI's and modify the automated plant process as required
  • Provide technical specifications and drawings to contractors and our workforce
  • Improve plant performance through new technologies and implementation
  • Provide advanced diagnostic information to the workforce for a timely repair
  • Provide input to develop safe work procedures
  • Familiar with variable frequency drives, PLC systems, HMI hardware and software, medium voltage switchgear and motor controls
  • Provide input into maintenance planning for electrical work
  • Be available as requested for unscheduled work with the expectation you will bank the time and use it in lieu.


Our successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Unencumbered Class 5 driver's license.
  • Licensed as a P.Eng or EIT with Engineers Nova Scotia
  • Prepared to address complex problems and solutions within a team setting.
  • Able to use a computer effectively - automated maintenance programs and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to promptly respond to and effectively troubleshoot unforeseen mill shutdowns utilizing available materials and manpower resources.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
  • Previous experience with Rockwell Software (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk ME, RSLogix 500) and Schneider Electric Software (Unity Pro 11, CitectSCADA 2015, SoMove) and other software is desired.
