In this position...
  • Create, lead, and manage the Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering teams to plan, engineer and launch manufacturing processes for Powertrains
  • Work with Product Engineering, Purchasing and Suppliers to specify DFM and deliver manufacturing feasibility and simultaneous engineering of new products through study, build, implement and launch phases to meet engineered rate.
  • Lead the Process engineering technical requirements for programs (cycle times, FMEA, implement BoP, OEM ESWP, program OEM, requisitions for PO, etc.)
  • Work with Mfg Strategy and Planning to ensure manufacturing systems meet investment and timing requirements.
  • Support the Ford Operating Systems for successful launch and long term operations.
  • Utilize institutional knowledge to implement standardization & continuous improvement (Kaizen)


Responsibilities

What you'll do...
  • Develop new program assessments and lead teams to Design/ Build / Implement new Powertrain products and capacities at Ford plant locations
  • Utilize Lessons Learned /Continuous Improvement Process
  • Utilize Strategies, Procedures, Guidelines, Bill of Process, MDS/MPS and Deviations.
  • Drive Simultaneous Engineering activities, cost studies and investment efficiency activities to meet targets
  • Provide technical expertise as required (ex. magnet insertion, wire bending, welding, etc.)
  • Develop Resource Requirements- Hire and assign resources. Check in and evaluate performance to objectives.
  • Electric Vehicle (EV/HEV):
    • Powertrain Assembly Process leadership
    • Work closely with related Product Design/Development teams.
  • Assess employee competencies and support Individual Development Plans; support employee growth through training classes on various topics as required.
  • Lead, mentor, coach, counsel, recognize and motivate employees.
  • Provide plant assistance to onoing Kaizen, extraordinary needs (ex. Current model major issues) , and support new programs launch
  • Be the PTME Innovations Champion, and coordinate with key partners (ex. ATP, MTD) on innovations to mass production,.
  • Lead Global teams on similar replications to ensure Best Practices & Lessons Learned are carried forward for Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Global teams on capacity & asset re-use to maximize capacity utilization and investment efficiency .


Qualifications

You have...
  • BSc, Engineering is required (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical preferred).
  • Strong manufacturing engineering experience - minimum 10 years in managing teams on major projects.
  • Understanding/experience of overall automotive processes (powertrain preferred) and manufacturing business acumen.
  • Advanced knowledge of Manufacturing Planning and Cost Study process to lead programs from concept through to implementation.

  • Experience in the Powertrain space.
  • Ability to think strategically and work with peer organizations within Ford to support Blue and Model e strategic plans.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with automotive manufacturing, engineering, production, and planning.
  • Flexible work locations (travel as required on frequent basis), depending on business needs.
  • Relationship / Work Experience with cross functional teams.
  • Servant Leadership mentality.

This position is leadership level 5 and ranges from $141,700-$268,300.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
