Process and Mechanical Drafter join our
Power and Industrial Engineering Group in
Bothell, WA.
Our Engineering group in Bothell, WA USA is looking for a full-time experienced Drafter to join our growing team. Under the direction of the project Lead Process and Mechanical Engineer, the Candidate will be responsible for technical accuracy, quality, and preparation of drawing packages within budget and schedule constraints. Prepare assignments, perform design and drafting and check the work of drafters as required.
Your role Under the direction of Design Team members and/or engineers, the Employee will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Prepare General Arrangements (GAs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) under the direction of the process engineer.
- Perform drafting work using AutoDesk's AutoCAD 2D and Plant 3D, or Revit (per project requirements).
- Utilize AutoCad Plant3D toolset, catalog piping, valve, and instrumentation information for reporting purposes.
- Check vendor and other discipline drawings against own or other designed work for correctness.
- Provide information to other drafters/designers on interface requirements.
- Check work of other members of the design team when needed.
- Work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including coordinated efforts with the Instrumentation and Electrical groups.
- Demonstrate consistent track record of anticipating consequences of new design in active iterations between disciplines.
- Assume a mentoring role and interact well with team members from all offices.
About you The ideal Candidate should have the following skills, knowledge, qualifications, and experience (as a minimum):
- Two-year degree in mechanical discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in an engineering design firm.
- Experience with power plant design (simple cycle, combined cycle, nuclear, etc.), is a plus.
- Thorough understanding of documentation and document control procedures.
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision upon assignment of tasks.
- Positive work ethic and act in a professional manner.
- Good problem solving, interpersonal skills, and time management.
- Ability to interpret and understand P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams), 3D models, orthrographic and isometric drawings.
- Strong knowledge of drafting and design standards, symbols and techniques in the area of mechanical, piping, structural, electrical or instrumentation drafting.
- Technical skills should include AutoCad 2D and Plant 3D, MS Office, BlueBeam, Revit, and the ability to learn and use other design software as may be required.
- Experience in SmartPlant Software Suite (SPI, SPPID, SP3D), and AutoDesk Navisworks, is a plus.

Additional information Expected compensation range is between $35.00 - $55.00 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
