What your day-to-day will look like - Provide operational risk guidance to Private Wealth Management Operations, advising on risks related to products, services, new systems, and business process changes.
- Lead risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) to identify operational risks, evaluate control design and effectiveness, and recommend mitigation plans.
- Manage operational incidents and issues, assessing business impacts, analyzing operational losses, and coordinating corrective actions.
- Lead remediation of control deficiencies, partnering with business stakeholders to develop action plans and track resolution.
- Maintain and improve policies, procedures, and process controls aligned with the bank's established risk framework and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with business leaders, compliance, and internal audit to address risk concerns, support examinations, and provide evidence of control effectiveness.
- Prepare executive reporting on risks, controls, incidents, and remediation progress, monitoring key risk indicators and communicating emerging concerns to leadership.
What's Required / Technical Skills - 3+ years of Private wealth or private banking experience is required, with knowledge of the products, services, and operational risks within that business.
- At least 5 years of banking experience, including operational risk management, business controls, or governance and oversight.
- Experience conducting risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) and evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
- Experience managing operational incidents and risk issues, assessing business impacts and leading remediation of control deficiencies.
- Ability to assess risks associated with new systems and business process changes and recommend practical mitigation plans.
- Strong understanding of banking policies, regulatory requirements, and risk frameworks, with experience partnering across the three lines of defense.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain complex risks clearly, challenge stakeholders constructively, and present findings to leadership.
